Hey, Fiesta Friends! Sorry, I didn’t have the chance to reply to your comments last week, but I do have a good excuse. I had to undergo a minor surgical procedure that required me to rest afterward. Everything is a-ok and I’m back on my feet, yay! For a while, though, the husband was responsible for the food situation at home. His response to that was typical. He basically ordered takeouts for everything, from breakfasts to dinners. I haven't met anyone else who is so averse to cooking! By ... continue reading...

So, I had a momentary memory lapse last week. Or more precisely, I had what you would consider a senior moment. How many more of these moments will I have to endure until I get to be a bonafide senior? Coz it's embarrassing! Last week, I forgot to notice we were celebrating Fiesta Friday Numero Cuatrocientos, Number Four Hundred! Which is a big feat, if I do say so myself. I usually put up what I ... continue reading...

There is no such thing as a small-batch lasagna, is there? When you make lasagna you gotta commit. Including the possibility of it bubbling over. Darn! Why does lasagna have to be so good?! And why does it have to be the husband’s favorite pasta dish?! Mine, on the other hand, tends to be the ... continue reading...

Take these beautiful vegetables below, for example. They’re not your run-of-the-mill eggplants, or tomatoes, or zucchini. They’re more interesting because of their shapes and colors and tastes. At times I have a hard time harvesting them because they look ... continue reading...
