Hey, guys! Did everyone have a happy Cinco? I had a low-key celebration with just the husband and the kids. We're ALL still supposed to be social distancing, after all. Though I've seen people not following the rules. Those people include my neighbors, by the way. I like most of my neighbors and one of them is as close to me as a sister. I love her and all, but she totally frustrates me by refusing to wear a mask! She asked me to go for a walk and I was like... uhmmm... not if you don't wear a ... continue reading...

Is it really May 1st today?! How long have we been under stay at home order?! I have completely lost track of the days... and weeks... and soon, time altogether. Is that good or bad?! I can't decide. Apparently, I've also lost my senses. I am, however, aware that Cinco de Mayo is fast approaching. Something has got to be done. It may be a minor holiday in its native Mexico, but stateside it's a big opportunity to celebrate, albeit in a culturally superficial way, i.e., people seem to equate it ... continue reading...

Our Caterpie finally evolved into a beautiful butterfly. Doesn't she look majestic?! She's been renamed. She's now Butterfree. This is what the bottom side of her wings looks like. I feel so lucky to be able to witness her complete metamorphosis. Meanwhile, the second caterpillar is ... continue reading...

Hi, guys! How’s everyone doing? Probably a little depressed, if I guess correctly. I'm with you; it hasn't been a lot of fun having to stay home ALL THE TIME. At this point, I'm going to have to start taking 3 naps a day just so I can pass the time. But, we have to persevere a little longer, okay?! We can't let our guard down yet. We must continue to do our parts to beat this Covid beast. Yes, it's a beast! Vicious beast! But I believe we can overcome it. There are signs that the worst may be ... continue reading...
Fiesta Friday #323
I'm happy to report that our red-spotted butterfly caterpillar is alive and well. When I couldn't find it, I thought it had escaped the greenhouse or worse, died. But instead, it had moved to a neighboring plant. Then, it started acting in a very peculiar way, like curling itself into the most painful-looking position. I was sure it was in distress. I thought maybe it was too warm in the greenhouse, so I opened the rooftop vent. Then it stopped eating and soon seemed to droop itself upside ... continue reading...
