Fiesta Friday #178

Do you know what it’s like to have SAS? That’s what I have, Short Attention Span.

Just yesterday, as I was working hard on a recipe post, I happened to glance out of the window and saw that the plants in the garden were wilting.

Not wanting to lose those plants, I left my computer and went outside to water the plants.

That was when I saw the cucamelons were starting to bear fruit. I was so excited that I quickly went back inside to go back to my computer.

Not to finish the post, but to consult the internet on what to do with cucamelons.

While I was browsing, I noticed the TV was showing a Harry Potter movie. Every time a Harry Potter movie is on, I have to watch it, so browsing ended.

Then, while on a commercial break, I flipped channels and came across the Dracula Untold movie. Oh, I thought, I almost went to see this movie but decided against it because Rotten Tomatoes gave it only 20 something percent. Now it’s free on TV, so let’s watch.

As I was watching, I couldn’t help thinking that Luke Evans looked familiar. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but he looked like someone. But who??

It was bothering me so I had to ask the husband, but while we were discussing it, my phone started dinging and messages from friends came on, asking when we could get together.

I started answering but was overcome with sleepiness that I dozed off in the middle of the conversation.

I woke up this morning with this message on my phone:

“Don’t you dare fall asleep on us, AGAIN!!”

And without a recipe post.

Now you know what life with SAS is like.

On the upside, after a good night’s sleep, I managed to solve the mystery of Luke Evans. He’s like the baby of Antonio Banderas and Orlando Bloom, in a comfortably-masculine-without-being-macho package.

And now, features!

Hi Angie!? Thanks for letting me cohost last week!
I have major SAS and it drives me nuts lol. My attention span is so short the only way I can jog/run is on a treadmill with an iPad so I can watch YouTube videos? I’d give you more examples but I’m not really aware when my SAS is on full blast lol. I asked Tristan for an example and he says it happens way too often for him to keep track?

Thanks for cohosting! About SAS, when do you know that it’s crossed ADD? ? I don’t want to trivialize it, since I work with many students diagnosed with it, but seriously some days, I wonder about myself. Glad to know I’m not alone ? On a positive note, though, I think people like us are usually creative. Our minds are always raging with ideas, right?! Now if we can only focus on one idea at a time!

Sometimes I really do scare myself with how short my attention span is and wonder if I have ADD lol. But you’re right, our brain just can’t handle all the brilliantly creative ideas we have?

No problem. I love your other recipe, too, the cheesecake bites. I’m going to try that, too, but maybe with a different fruit. While I love mangoes, my kids somehow are not excited about them. Beats me!

Thanks Angie! This recipe should work with another very dry fruit too, but if the mixture is too wet you can always try adding more ground almonds. Enjoy your weekend:)

Hmmm, this post of yours got me thinking if I have SAS, but I think I am more on a multi-tasking kind of lady which means I finish what I am supposed to do. I don’t get easily distracted as long as I have a plan on what to do this time and on the next. Well, maybe I also this sometimes. I guess we all do have these kinds of moments. Or do you always have it??

And there cucamelons are pretty. I have seen them on Google, so I am looking forward to a post about them.?

I am free to co-host, Angie. Tell me when.?

You’re a multi-tasker, that’s great! You’re probably organized, too. When I grow up, I want to be just like you! ?
Those cucamelons are so small, though. I have no idea how long I have to wait to get enough for a small bowl! No patience here! I’ll let you know when I’ll be needing you, Jhuls, thanks so much!

Despite suffering from SAS, however, I have exceptional memory. Ask me tonight what I ate just now for lunch, and I can tell you exactly! ? I think probably desserts are on everybody’s mind since the Fourth of July is just a few days away. You know, it’s a special occasion ????

I’m thinking maybe I need to plant more, since apparently 5 cucamelon plants don’t give you all that much to harvest. Maybe it’s still early? Maybe they’ll pick up as the weather gets hotter? Who knows, it’s my first time. The onglet looks so good!!!

        Hi Angie
Thank you! It was a lovely treat!
Only 1 of my cucamelon plants made it so I think it will be very sparse this year. I grew them for the first time last year and they love hot weather I noticed (and plenty of water) 🙂 x
