I really thought that by now I would have a new recipe post ready to publish. Especially since there are currently 61 posts in my drafts!
Most of them are filled with jumbled sentences, though, and several badly taken photos, and only a couple have recipes written.
Would it be okay to share food posts without recipes included? I think I’ve done that before, and I haven’t been fired or anything.
Seriously, though, don’t get rid of me just yet! I do have a few gems in those drafts. They just need a little more editing and polishing and they’ll be ready to share.
And this weekend I’ll have the time to do that. I’m heading to the shore, as we speak. That’s when I usually work better, when I’m on a vacation.
Think about it, there will be no cooking or gardening or cleaning to distract me. There will be a lot of sleeping and eating and just plain laziness, though. Oh well, whatever happens, happens.
By the way, do you notice that here in New Jersey, people say they’re going to “the shore”. When we lived in California, we just said “the beach”. And I notice that people in the UK say it’s “the sea”. To make it even more confusing, my friends from Oregon would more likely call it “the coast”.
Who is right?
And now, features!
Thai Chicken Wings from Mollie @ The Frugal Hausfrau
“I just love chicken wings and Thai cuisine.. This is an amazing combination of both…Definitely these wings are going to be a super hit at any party..,The best part is that, the wings are baked. So it’s absolutely guilt free :)” — Nimmi
Tuscan Green Bean Panzanella Salad from Joanne @ No Plate Like Home
“Green beans have never looked this delicious! A simple yet beautiful salad that is a delight to the eyes.” — CH
Three Cup Chicken, San Bei Ji from Petra @ Food Eat Love
“This Taiwanese dish was cooked in a very different manner,a completely new cooking experience for me. The way Petra plated the dish was also really interesting.” — Nimmi
Banana Beignets from Judi @ Cookingwithauntjuju.com
“I just gotta try these, I LOVE beignets! True they’re not the healthiest thing, but these got bananas in them, so they’re half healthy!” — Angie

Here in Germany people actually go to “the ocean” (that would be the literal translation) even though we only have the Baltic Sea and North Sea closeby. It is confusing indeed.
I like the fact that you simply didn’t post a recipe. Better edit one of those drafts properly.
Happy holiday!

I was going to joke that in the Midwest (we lived there for a while too), people would say they’re going to the lake..hehe..there’s no coastline there. To me the beach sounds the most appropriate ? Thanks for cohosting, Jenny, hope you’ll have fun! ?
Jenny says
I am sure I will! Excited to see what everybody is preparing.

Whatever be the name,I love the time watching those waves?..though I miss California beaches here… Happy Fiesta Friday ?
Angie says
Did you live in California, too? I miss the weather, so easy to dress over there. Here in the East, the weather can turn at a moment’s notice ?

Those Thai wings selected to feature this week look awesomely delectable. I’m in CT, we call it the beach or the shore, interchangeable. At least the people I go to the beach or shore with…
Angie says
They look finger lickin good, don’t they. I’m going to try the marinade for drumsticks or ribs, I think it’ll work. The beach sounds the best to me. When we first moved here, we thought shore sounded refreshingly quaint, then that show Jersey Shore came along…??

Enjoy your time on vacation! And I think you can totally share food posts without recipes 🙂
Angie says
Thanks! Okay, with your approval, be prepared for an avalanche of food photos, lol.

Good morning, Angie! I just cut my drafts down from 170 to 70. Yep. I am a draft hoarder! And I’m not done going through them. It is such a load off to push that trash button and thin things out and makes it so much easier to find what I want. And the small guilt I felt is nothing compared to the BIG guilt I felt everytime I looked at a draft and thought I needed to work on it!
Thanks guys for the feature! 🙂 Enjoy your vaca!! And we in the Midwest say to the beach if it’s a beach (that means sand) and to the lake (or river) if we’re going to a wild area.
Angie says
170?! Wow, you ARE a draft hoarder and I thought I was bad. My problem is I tend to do multiple projects at one time. And by the time I’m done I’m too tired to write down what I did! My least favorite part of blogging is the blogging itself, haha… I don’t mind the cooking and I definitely love the experimenting. I just need to document better.

Ditto!! 🙂

I know I am late again but I didn’t want to miss out! Thank you for the feature, they are all so gorgeous and makes me so hungry!
Your blog posts are always interesting, funny and they will always work! With or without recipe! I have a constant bad conscience about not doing enough blog posts but time is always running away from me! 🙂
Angie says
You’re welcome! I did try your Sanbeji, but with pork and lots of basil from the garden. It was superb! I will try it with chicken next time. I think it’s already a family favorite ? I’ll try to post more often, I guess, with or without recipes. Let’s see how quickly I break that promise ?

hi Angie
Oh it sounds delicious with pork! I think it would work with salmon as well! Am so glad you liked it! 🙂 x

Wow! I was just complaining and telling myself to get rid of my drafts and I have less than 15!!? Most of them are only photos, some with recipes already, but no happy or funny stories to tell. I couldn’t just share a recipe without me being chatty. That’s not me AT ALL!
And oh, you can post photos only, Angie! Your photos are all drool worthy!? We’ll keep drooling until you share the recipes.?
Angie says
Oh definitely we need funny happy stories to go with the recipes, especially from you, Jhuls ? ? Btw, I need another cohost for FF184, Aug 11. Let me know if you fill the spot ?
Jhuls says
Sure, Angie! Aug11 is fine?
Angie says
Thanks, Jhuls! Your other cohost is Petra ?
Jhuls says
Copy that!?

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for my very FIRST Feature! I was so happy my husband kept asking “What’s Fiesta Friday?” As we were driving back from vacation. We too went to “the shore.” Rehoboth Beach. I think that is still referred to as the shore?
Angie, I got very little done on vacation with two toddlers! I’m exhausted and glad to be home where I can relax!!
Angie says
Me, too! I didn’t have anything done at all! A lot of eating, though ? I feel the same way, actually, about relaxing at home. That said, we’re going away again next week, lol. And you’re so sweet about the feature. We love your panzanella salad! I love that you added green beans; my green beans are growing like gangbusters!
