So, are you impressed now?
I actually posted two St. Patrick’s Day recipes before it was too late to celebrate the day! The Colcannon and the Guinness Pork. Three if you count the Roasted Potatoes.
(Do you see my posts on your WordPress Reader, by the way? For some reason, my last post didn’t show up. Go figure.)
I’m finally ahead of the game!
At this rate, I might even post four Easter recipes next week! Since it’ll be Spring Break and I won’t have to go to work. I can just stay home and cook and blog.
If I have my way, that is. But let’s not get carried away just yet.
The husband is threatening to take us on a vacation. And one of my girlfriends is planning a get-together. So, most likely, my blogging plans will be derailed again.
Such is the story of my life…
But, but… you know, I love my husband and my girlfriends for everything they do to make my life fun and happy. < — Written just in case they happen to read this, which they won’t, but just in case. Stranger things have happened.
So, I hope everyone had a great St. Patrick’s Day yesterday. Hopefully you didn’t indulge too much. ‘Coz the real party is right now! Right here! At Fiesta Friday!
Time for Features!
Easter Coconut Macaroons from Lily @ Little Sweet Baker
“This is such a cute way to celebrate Easter! The nest shaped macaroons with the candy eggs is bound to make any kid jumping for joy.” — Apsara
Rogan Josh Kashmir from Linda @ La Petite Paniere
“Linda’s Rogan Josh is just over the top delicious! I am always amazed by her passion and her mouth-watering recipes. I am not a huge fan of lamb meat, but I think she might convert me soon. 😀
Falafel Crunch Crusted Sweet Potato Wedges from Elaine @ foodbod
“You can trust Elaine to come up with such original recipes. The very idea of pairing flavors from a falafel mix and humus with sweet potato sounds incredibly fantastic.” — Apsara
Bizcocho de Caramelo from Linda @ Fabulous Fare Sisters
“It is not just the decadent cake that caught my eye, but the story behind it is so funny, too. The cake just oozes with caramel and the cream on top looks fabulous.” — Apsara

I saw the recipes – good for you managing to post in time! You’re also early in posting today too, I think, which is great for me as I can get in early 🙂 Great features as always, looking forward to seeing what everyone else brings today. And I’m not home alone with the kids this week now finally. Woohoo!
Angie says
I posted early today to see if it’ll get on the WP Reader, but no! The only thing different I did recently was to install Collective Bias Analytics plugin since I recently joined. But who knows! Yay to finally having the husband back home!! XOXO

I think you deserve a vacation and a girlie do, snatch both up please do or I will go on both for you instead hehe. Pics looking great as usual 😀 Happy Easter in advance….though I hope I will be here eating lots of chocolate yay x
Angie says
Yes, I think you’re right. I so deserve a vacation and girlfriends day. The blog can take care of itself, haha… I do have a couple of recipes to try out. Easy ones. That’s the key! 🙂 I hope your wish will come true, about eating lots of chocolate 😀
eclecticoddsnsods says
it can take care of itself 😀 Are you going? x
Angie says
I’m there now. But I feel like going home ? Although it’s nice to be with the kids all the time. When we’re home, we all occupy our own space and tend to do our own thing.
eclecticoddsnsods says
awe but kiddy time is so special…we get used to the routine of our daily life though and comfort it brings when home however, x

I always have grand plans at the beginning of my break and by the end of it , I am lucky if I have accomplished 1/4th of it! Life happens! My blog for some reason always gets pushed to the back burner! Love all the features! Happy FF!

I know! I just have to be more organized. And thats why I recently bought one of those organizer/planner book 😀

Take the Vacay… We are still deciding on a small vacation for spring break. It was my wife’s bday this week and our 24th anniversary is on Monday. To much to figure out. Thanks for hosting and have a great weekend.
Angie says
Oh Happy Anniversary! Next year you’ll be celebrating your silver anniversary, how cool is that? Several more years for us. Enjoy your weekend, Quinn! XOXO
Dad Whats 4 Dinner says
I know. Scary! I don’t feel that old. Actually I am not that old just got married very young. Amazingly she has stuck with me this long. :))-
Angie says
Oh sure, Quinn, so did I ? I always tell people I was twelve when my son was born, haha…
Liz @ spades, spatulas, and spoons says
Hope you had a wonderful St. Patrick’s day Angie. It must be difficult to find time to cook and blog, spend time with loved ones, plus work, much less host the wonderful Fiesta Friday! I think you do amazingly well.
Angie says
Thanks, Liz! It’s very much a balancing act. I have to keep telling myself it’s ok if certain things don’t get done in a day ? We enjoyed St. Patrick’s Day! Ate a lot of corned beef ?
Janet Vinyard says
Hi Angie, Thanks for hosting Fiesta Fridays! Hope you have a nice vacation. Blessings, Janet
Angie says
You’re welcome, Janet! I’m glad you’re enjoying Fiesta Friday. Have you met many new friends yet?
Jhuls says
Hmm, congrats on making your post in time, Angie. 😀 I don’t spend much time on WP Reader these days, so I will have to find out. I am off to seeing what’s on the table, Angie. See you around. 😛 Thanks for the party again! x
Angie says
I myself spend less and less these days on the reader but it’s still a quick way to get updates from the blogs I follow. Have fun at the fiesta, Jhuls! XOXO
Sarah 'n Spice says
Hope you have a great vacation! I’m jealous 😛
Angie says
Oh don’t be! I sometimes actually prefer to just stay home and relax ?
Elaine @ foodbod says
Yep, that would be my choice too!!
Angie says
I find traveling stressful sometimes 🙂
Elaine @ foodbod says
We went to Abu Dhabi last October and it literally took me a whole week to get over it, I was so unwell! As a result I have no desire to get back on a plane for a long time!!!
Elaine @ foodbod says
(But maybe the fact that I stayed with my mother had something to do with it???)
Angie says
LOL! All my girlfriends always tell me similar feelings about their moms. I’m the opposite. I feel very much at peace every time I’m around my mom. She still thinks of me as her little girl and literally will serve me my meals when I come home from work! 🙂
Elaine @ foodbod says
How lovely!!! My mum sadly makes me feel anything but relaxed 🙁
Angie says
😀

I was very impressed with your two posts, Angie. And I think it’s a good thing when life gets in the way of blogging, as opposed to the other way around. Enjoy your week off! I will have all four of my kids home next week, so it won’t exactly be a break, just a change of pace (and maybe a change of scenery if we do a couple of outings.)
Angie says
I think the same way about blogging. It should add to your quality of life, and not lessen it. I learn to not stress too much about it. Enjoy the kids! Must be fun to have them all at home! XOXO

Oh, Angie, Jhuls and Apsara I just want to thank you for featuring this week my recipe. I’m feel more than honored, thanks again it’s a pleasure to participate to this awesome Party. Angie enjoy your vacation and have fun! 🙂 xx
Angie says
Oh you are so sweet! What a gracious thing to say. But, really, your recipes are spectacular, all of them! That curry looks super delicious!
Elaine @ foodbod says
Oh wow! I’m very late to the party, I had no idea I was featured, thank you so much ???? happy Fiesta Friday!!! xxx
Angie says
I love those potato wedges. Just the sound of them makes me drool!
Elaine @ foodbod says
I can honesty tell you that they were very good!! I did eat the entire tray myself! But hey, I made them so why not???? 😉
Elaine @ foodbod says
By the way I’ve just whizzed through the reader and can’t see your posts 🙁 the FF post comes up though?
Angie says
I know! There’s a problem. Even when they come up, they have no photos. This also happened when I first moved to self-hosted. WP has some incompatibility issues with certain plugins. But I still love WP and WP bloggers the most! 🙂
Elaine @ foodbod says
My understanding of going self hosted is that there are often many hoops to jump through…
Angie says
You’ll get used to it. I still highly recommend it. I think you learn to be a better blogger quicker by going self hosted.
Elaine @ foodbod says
Interesting…I’m still undecided..
Angie says
The sooner the better. That’s my advice. The more posts you have on WP.com, the harder to move. That’s my experience and how I feel. Personally, I wish I had done it sooner.
Elaine @ foodbod says
I see that, but I just don’t know if I need to do it?! I have no issues with my blog as it is, so what difference would it really make?
Angie says
You wouldn’t know it until you do it 🙂 I can’t explain it but there are many articles out there elaborating the pros and cons. I like it that I own my blog and can do whatever I want with it. It all depends on what you want to do with your blog.
Elaine @ foodbod says
I get that 🙂
Linda says
Thanks for featuring our dessert this week Angie! We’re excited to a part of such a great Party!
🙂 🙂
Angie says
Thank YOU for being such a wonderful participant. Your recipes are always top-notch. Did you know I haven’t bought a cookbook since FF started? ?
Linda says
What a compliment Angie! Thank you! We try our best to bring good stuff to the table 🙂 🙂 🙂 I’m hoping to get a FFS cookbook together some time this year 🙂
Angie says
That’s exciting! An FFS cookbook? Wow!
petra08 says
I love your post that you have plans for cooking and blogging and then life, in the nicest possible way, comes in-between! ” St Patrick’s recipes before the day is most impressive, I didn’t make it further than the pub wearing a green top! A brilliant party as always, I will have a browse around later, the recipes looks so tempting! 🙂
Angie says
St. Patrick’s Day is pretty big around here. I happen to live 2 minutes away from an Irish pub. And a couple of my friends go crazy weeks before! Enjoy FF and the weekend or what’s left of it ? Goes by so fast!
