Grilled corn is a summer ritual! That's my proclamation of the day. It probably is for most people anyway. If not, it ought to be. Coz who can resist this, seriously?! Grill the corn on high heat for 15 minutes, turning often, until charred and blistered here and there. Then slather with butter while still hot. There's no need to melt the butter. Now the corn is a blank canvas to all your grilled corn desires. Mine happens to be lime juice, salt, crispy garlic, crumbled feta... and... as if ... continue reading...

Happy early 4th, guys! How are you all going to celebrate? Is anybody thinking of having a block party? Wouldn’t that be fun, huh?! A couple of years ago, just before the pandemic, we celebrated with several of our immediate neighbors, potluck style. We had such a good time we promised to repeat it annually. Or maybe take a lengthy siesta later. That sounds too luxurious, seriously. Pretty sure it violates some kind of rules. Maybe I need to go ... continue reading...

She marvels at the food photos on the blog and contends that I must spend an excessive amount of time in the kitchen. That's not entirely true, of course. Especially the fancy part. For instance, this omelet. There's nothing fancy about it, is there? That's our typical weekend brunch. It is ... continue reading...
