Fiesta Friday #299

Happy Friday, Fiesta Friends! Hurray, said people everywhere! I’m always excited when it’s Friday. Suddenly everything seems so light and easy…

Suddenly… I’ve got something I can laugh about… I feel good in a special way… ???

Friday makes me want to burst into song.

I was trying to force the husband to play hooky with me, but he said he had to give a presentation at work. What do those engineers do all day, anyway? Every time I call him, he’s always in a meeting. Is there any work actually being done?

Don’t mind me, I’m just ranting because I didn’t get what I wanted. Ideally, I wanted to have a 3-day weekend somewhere sunny and beachy, then go to dinner at Zahav to end the weekend on a high note. Neither is happening! Zahav takes reservation at least 60 days in advance, good grief!

Anyway, I’m still happy, regardless. I’m not going to let a little inconvenience called work ruin my Friday. Besides, we’re having a fiesta right now. And I’m even going to participate this time. I’m very close to finishing a brand new Halloween post. I have now finished and published that Halloween post. See you at the fiesta!

It’s Features Time!

Banoffee Trifle from Kate @ Gluten Free Alchemist

“I can’t resist Banoffee, first of all. But this Banoffee Trifle takes it to the next level. Layered with dulce de leche caramel, and spiked with toffee vodka, it’s in a class of its own.”

Polish Apple Fritters (Racuchy) from Ewa @ Cooking With Ewa

“These Apple Fritters sound delectable. And it’s Friday, so fried food is allowed.”

Spicy Harry Potter Inspired Pumpkin Juice from Lisa @ Lazy Budget Chef

“This is the time for Pumpkin Juice! Lisa’s recipe sounds just right to me, not too sweet, with the right balance of spice.”

Stuffed Sweet Potatoes from Kristina @ American Wife Brazilian Kitchen

“This is also the time for sweet potatoes. These stuffed sweet potatoes look beautiful. They will make a perfect side dish for my Thanksgiving turkey.”

Hello! I’m here (well, I’m still busy but I can manage to join my favourite party for a bit)! Loving all the features this week and I love your Halloween Naans Angie (can you post them in the Fiesta too?) I’ve just posted a pumpkin recipe (post 15?) and loads of colourful pumpkin field photos! They might be a regular thing over there, but here they are pretty outstanding! Have a fantastic weekend. xxx

Thanks for taking the time off your busy schedule to fiesta with us, Laurena. Same here, I’m busy, too. All of a sudden there’s a lot of cleaning to do, in and outside! Also, all my friends/family seem to have birthdays in the fall. Buying gifts and wrapping them is a weekend chore ? Looking forward to seeing the pumpkin galore!

Who’s ready for Cinco de Mayo?! I am! 🙋🏻‍♀️ May I suggest celebrating it with this Pineapple Margarita Chicken Quesadilla? You gotta make that Pineapple Margarita first, though. Coz that’s the marinade for the chicken! As if I need to twist any arms. 🤣 The more margarita, the merrier, says people everywhere. 🍸🥳 Link in bio!
