Fiesta Friday #298

I was talking to someone at work about the importance of a good night’s sleep. We concurred that our daily lives are greatly affected by the quality of our sleep.

Then she proceeded to tell me that on a good night, she might sleep for a total of 5 hours, from 10 pm to 3 am.

That’s when I asked her if she came from a different planet. That’s when our conversation abruptly ended.

I mean, 5 hours of sleep?! On a good night?! Which means that there are nights when she only sleeps for… er… what, 3-4 hours?!

Unless she’s an alien, I don’t know how she can possibly function. Anybody with me on this? Am I the only one needing a full 8-hour sleep nightly?

I admit that as I get older it’s getting harder to get a good night’s sleep lasting for that long, but then I always make it up by taking naps.

This is why I never get things done! I sleep too much! Now the mystery is solved. I always wondered how some people can get so many things accomplished in one day.

Btw, when I offended my coworker by accusing her of being an alien, it wasn’t just because of the seemingly short sleep time she needs, but also because she mentioned that when she gets bored, she cleans her windows.

Not the indoor part of the windows, but the sides facing out. So she would actually go outside and wipe her windows, at 5 am. She would have been awake for 2 hours by then.

I can almost hear the sound of jaws dropping everywhere.

I’m not making fun of her, really. I’m just honestly baffled.

Don’t worry, I’ll make it up to her tomorrow by bringing her a potted papaya plant I’ve been raising for her. She and I share a love of plants. Nothing will brighten our days more than getting a gift of plants.

It’s Features Time!

Hi, Angie. When I was nine years younger, I could go a day without sleeping or only sleep for two hours and still have the energy the next day. But you know, as years go by and I get, you know… you know what I mean… hahahaha, I need looooong hours of sleep. 5 hours is not enough for me!!!

Thanks for hosting Fiesta Friday again! About co-hosting, I can do it on Nov 1 or Nov 8. 😀

You know what, that didn’t happen to me. I used to need 10 hours of sleep when I was little. But of course, with the amount of homework they gave us, I didn’t often get enough sleep, so I was constantly sleepy when I was in school ? If you can cohost on Nov 1, that’ll be great. Your fellow cohost is Petra. Thanks, Jhuls! ?
