Fiesta Friday #275

Happy (early) Mother’s Day to all of you moms out there (that includes me)! I hope your family will treat you like a queen and spoil you rotten this weekend.

In my case, I can expect a gift of another pair of pink fuzzy slippers, a pot of blooming flowers and a box of chocolate. My kids are as predictable as their dad when it comes to gift-giving.

Then, of course, there’ll be brunch. And I may even get a neck massage. All are lovely, and I appreciate them. But what I look forward to the most is the picnic on the beach. The last few years it’s become sort of tradition.

Let’s just hope the weather cooperates. It’s been kind of cold and dreary lately and now they’re saying it’ll rain on Mother’s Day. Oh, well… maybe an indoor picnic?

Features!!

Slow Cooker Carnitas from Ai @ Ai Made It For You

“I absolutely love this dish! It is fresh, balanced, and packed with flavor. The presentation alone makes this dish! Just delicious!” — Antonia

“A favorite dish on Cinco de Mayo or anytime.” — Liz

Middle Eastern Herb and Cauliflower Salad from Liz @ spades, spatulas & spoons

“I love this salad! The use of riced cauliflower as a substitute for grain and the mix of herbs are both clever and appealing. And it looks gorgeous!” — Angie

Oreo Dessert Pots from Kat @ The Baking Explorer

“I can see these little beauties being a hit at any get together! I love all the layers, with the richness and textures! A perfect dessert!” — Antonia

Oven Sheet Pan Crepes from Mollie @ Frugal Hausfrau

“What a clever idea! My days of standing over a crepe pan are over.” — Liz

Ooo, do you think I can have a second Mothers Day! 😛 A picnic on the beach sounds lovely – but we’ve just had a major ten minute hailstorm so the beach doesn’t look likely anytime soon! I hope you have a wonderful weekend and get totally spoilt – pink fuzzy slippers and all! 😀 xxx

Of course! You have every right to a second or even third, you have my permission, hehe… The beach is not looking promising here either… sad… I’m so bummed, but maybe my family will think of something fun to do. I can only hope ? Thanks for cohosting! ??

Lol, that’s funny. Yes, it’s always the second Sunday of May. Even though you’ve celebrated it earlier this year, I think I can still wish you a Happy Mother’s Day! ?

    Hi Angie,
Hope you got your picnic on the beach! It poured here all day long on Mother’s Day but we still went to the coastal seafood place I love and waited outside for an hour as they don’t take reservations 🙂
We certainly need another Mother’s Day with sunshine 🙂

As a matter of fact, I didn’t get the picnic. I took a rain check instead ? We had a pancake party, with me mostly cooking the pancakes, but the kids did help clean up and prepare toppings etc. Still, it was nice being together. We need to have a redo, definitely ?
