So, okay, I know I promised you a recipe for Hot Cross Buns, and possibly even Italian Easter Bread. I did tease you with those photos a couple of weeks ago. The problem is, when I looked for the recipes in my backlog of drafts, I couldn’t find them.
There were lots of photos, but no recipes! Which means that I probably need to make those Hot Cross Buns once again, so I can document the precise recipe. I don’t post any recipe unless I know for sure it works, and the measurements exact.
Yesterday, I did actually find myself with time on my hands. That rare moment when there’s no husband bothering, or kids needing feeding, or dog wanting petting. It was the perfect opportunity to make the buns.
Unfortunately, I was all out of all-purpose flour. What kind of a food blogger would be caught without any flour left in her kitchen?! A less-than-dedicated food blogger?! If this was my job, I would have been fired for sure.
But no worries, this weekend I plan to replenish my pantry. I’ll make sure a big sack of flour is on the top of the list of things to buy. And then maybe I can finally make good on that promise. Sounds good to you?
Now let’s start the party with these fabulous offerings:
“I am not a huge fan of peanut butter, but Monika’s truffles sound so interesting to me, especially with the addition of ginger. It seems like a perfect idea to combine the two. They look so pretty, too.” — Jhuls
“The color of the pesto alone makes me want to lick my screen. I only like peas when mixed with fried rice or any other main dishes, but Mollie’s pesto looks so hard to resist.” — Jhuls
“So, this is a dark chocolate cake, y’all… but it has other things hidden in it that makes it even better… better tasting and better for you. It has espresso powder aaannd… it has fresh beets! And look at it, isn’t it purdy?!” — Angie

Not only was I out of flour, I was out of onions, too, ha! That’s why we’ve been getting takeouts ?
It sounds like a very busy food blogger to me! No way you would be fired Angie.
It’s true I’m very busy. I was just complaining to a friend there isn’t enough time in a day to do everything I want to do ?
Thanks for another great party – Have a fabulous week!
