Oh, Spring… where art thou?
I’m anxiously awaiting the much-anticipated blossoming of the flowers, so promised by the budding trees and sprouting flower bulbs in my own garden.
Spring is supposed to be here in less than two weeks, but it doesn’t feel much like we’re getting any closer to it. The weather continues to be frigid. It’s not time to shed our winter coats just yet. Oh, shucks! I so dislike wearing layers of clothing. So restrictive!
Also remember, daylight saving time starts this Sunday, which means we’ll be losing an hour of sleep. Oh, shucks!
On the plus side, I can now expect to photograph my dinners in natural light. It’d be nice to finish cooking while there’s still daylight. There’s always a silver lining… and the glass is half-full. Don’t you agree?
Okay, it’s now time for features!
“I avoid alcohol, but it would be hard to refuse this beautiful chocolate tart. It looks silky smooth, and Ai decorated it beautifully. I could stare at it all day!” — Kat
“Totally amazing flavors, Ai! Chocolate, Baileys, fruit & nuts… and just look at the shine on that chocolate ganache! Stunning presentation!” — Laurena
“What a colorful plate to have for…breakfast! Ramya has handmade the rice noodles and created this spicy flavor sensation! Perfect!” — Laurena
“These cupcakes are simply irresistible! Just look at those towers of shamrock frosting!” — Kat
“This is such a nice collection. All of these recipes are healthy and pretty straight-forward and simple, which is perfect since you don’t usually have that much time in the morning to cook elaborate breakfasts anyway. They all sound scrumptious, though. I have my eyes on at least a couple of them to try.” — Angie

Angie seriously no spring your side? we have an early spring this year and flowers are already blooming full swing. It is beautiful but also worrying. The whole weather cycle has gone for a toss.
Angie says
So we had a few “warmer” weeks that prompted my plants to start budding but then it’s stalled. Now it’s back to cold, and actually it snowed a little yesterday and possibly again today. The weather IS crazy! Making it hard to plan the garden ?
Of Goats and Greens says
We’ve had roller coaster weather. Yesterday it dropped back down to minus 7 (that’s Fahrenheit) when I woke. We will have more snow on Sunday, which is threatening to be significant. Then, it is supposed to warm up, at least for a while. I’ve tapped my landscaper to come by as soon as the snow (and most the mud season) goes. There are a few things he can do out front while it is still muddy, because there’s grass there, but most will have to wait.
At any rate, I love that muffin pan – and want to add that zoodly breakfast to my breakfast egg options!
Angie says
Roller coaster weather is an apt description. It seems colder now than in the depth of winter, doesn’t it? My dog has to wear her sweater to go outside; she hates it ? Hopefully it’ll all go away in a couple of weeks. I need to dig in the dirt and smell the earth!
Jhuls | The Not So Creative Cook says
The weather is making me more sick! Well, it is not that we are having a snow, but when your tummy is having a little volcano inside (you know what I mean???), then any amount of cold is not acceptable by my body. I couldn’t wait for spring to come. Yay!!??
Now, let’s see what our friends are bringing this week.? Happy Fiesta Friday, Angie!?
Angie says
Take it easy, Jhuls. A volcano inside your tummy is serious business ? Hope you feel better soon. In the meantime, let’s fiesta…thank goodness it’s a virtual fiesta ?
Jhuls | The Not So Creative Cook says
Oh yes, that’s a huge relief or else I’ll just be smelling everything.? I am happy to be co-hosting with Laurena. I hope we can co-host together again.???
Life Diet Health says
Yay, me too?Not next week though!?Two in a row is enough! Glad you’re feeling a bit better now. Happy FF.
Angie says
Oh, and thanks for cohosting! ??
Ai | Ai made it for you says
Happy Fiesta Friday Angie! Thank you so much for featuring my tart!
I can’t believe it’s still so cold there. We’re starting to see buds of cherry blossoms over here. Not quite ready to put away the coats just yet… but definitely getting warmer!
Life Diet Health says
That is one delicious tart Ai! 🙂 Hopefully I’ll make it soon!
Angie says
Your tart! Where do I begin?! I think just about everybody wants a piece of it ? Good to know some places are thawing out there. At least some of us are getting warm ?
Kate - Gluten Free Alchemist says
Oh My….. that Baileys Chocolate Tart is to die for…. xxxxx

Hear hear ???

Your daylight saving starts already? Ours isn’t until the end of the month (on our Mothers Day actually)! How random! I always wondered why flight arrival and departure times got muddled in the Spring! Our weather is a bit of a rollercoaster too, we had a frost, then glorious sunshine with 12c (53f), followed by storms and winds of 60km/h all in the same day! I’ll be back soon to start checking out this weeks posts – I just need to paint a ceiling and a wall first! 😛
Angie says
Can we all collectively raise our fist and tell Mother Nature: Enough with the stormy weather!! 53 degrees and sunshine sound dreamy right now ? Thanks for cohosting, Laurena, and good luck with the painting. Painting the ceiling is a tough job!
Life Diet Health says
Woohoo… Painting finished – I did the first coat on the ceiling and THEN hubby bought me a roller extension pole!!!
Angie says
Oh, wow, you are now full fledged weekend warrior! I aspire to be one, but mostly my weekends are spent lounging around watching TV ? No wonder nothing gets done around here ?
Rebecca - Glutarama says
Over the pond our daylight saving hours change on the 31st…Mothers Day (figures hahaha)
that Bailey’s Chocolate Tart made my eyebrows disappear into my hair line….sooooooo delish looking.
Thanks for hosting, have a fab weekend xx
Angie says
Our Mother’s Day is not until May. We’ll be well into spring by then, better conducive for Mother’s Day alfresco dining which I hope my kids will remember. I’m not asking for much, a simple picnic will do ? That tart is next on my list to make!
Monika Dabrowski says
Thank you so much for featuring my recipe collection! I am very disorganised these days so joining in late, have a nice weekend, hope it’s a sunny one!
Angie says
It’s a nice collection. It’s impressive that you have so many healthy breakfast recipes on your blog.
Swati says
Congratulations to all the featured posts,THE CHOCOLATE TART, SEVIYAN AND MINT CUPCAKES look so scrumptious. Here in Iowa we too are waiting for winters to end.. Hopefully next week temperature seem quite pleasant. For next 6 months will again be losing 1 hr of sleep!! 🙂
Happy Fiesta Friday.
Angie says
I hope warmer weather will soon come for everyone, Swati. But not too, too warm ? Don’t you hate it when it goes straight from winter to summer? Let’s hope spring comes soon and stay for a while.
