Fiesta Friday #234

It’s finally happening! Today our old deck will be demolished and a new one built. Hurray! ← That’s true happiness there.

The old deck is such an eyesore. We never really take good care of it, and over the years it’s gone from bad to worse.

When the kids were younger, we used it a lot more. But now it’s mostly there just to house the grill and the potted plants. It’s a wasted living space that I can’t wait to reclaim!

In other exciting news, I stubbed my toe, hurray! ← That’s sarcasm mixed with self-pity. Now I have this nail that’s split in two with one half hanging to the side. So gross! I almost threw up when I saw it, and I probably would have if I wasn’t in such pain.

Okay, then, after painting a disgusting picture, let’s move on to the food ??

Favorites from last week’s fiesta

Greek Lamb Meatball Pita Sandwich from Jas @ All That’s Jas

Honey Barbecue Pulled Chicken from Mollie @ The Frugal Hausfrau

Deep-Fried Watermelon Rind from Lina @ Sew historically

Garam Masala Grilled Salmon with Avocado, Tomato and Cuke Salsa from Judi @ cookingwithauntjuju.com

Congrats on a new and useful deck! We’ll need pictures when it is done, possibly with a glass or some dish you’ve created sitting out on a table there…

I’m going to take my time decorating the deck. I’ll wait for all the outdoor furniture to go on sale ? Shouldn’t be too long now.

Owww! I hope you’ve almost forgotten about your toe by now and all attention is on that deck!☺ Looking forward to seeing photos when it’s all done!??We had a massive storm here – over 17,500 reported lightening strikes!⚡️ Chaos at the airports and ports with this extreme UK weather… I’m glad we hadn’t planned to go anywhere -some friends flying home on Thursday are still stranded here (Sunday)! Happy Fiesta Friday! ☺

The pain is almost forgotten, but the ugly toenail is not ? How do you paint nail polish on half a nail? ? Good thing I have the deck to distract me. That storm sounds crazy! And scary! I hope everyone is safe over there. The weather pattern seems to be getting more and more extreme every year. Yet some people still don’t believe climate change is real!

Ouch! Your poor toe! It must have been so painful!
The new deck sounds great. I love my outdoor space 🙂 Delicious features, deep fried watermelon rind?! Absolutely intriguing 🙂 x

More tragic than the pain is that I will have this ugly toenail for a while. You know how slow toenails grow. It sounds so vain but I love wearing my flip flops and sandals in the summer ? Oh well, at least I’ll have a new deck ?
