This post is brought to you by the Eagles Championship Parade Commission, the commission that brings you the best championship parade in the world.
Actually, I don’t know if there was a commission and I’m possibly biased, but the parade was off the hook!
I know, I know, enough with the Eagles winning the Super Bowl already…
NOT!!
The celebration continued. And what a celebration that was! So. Much. Fun!!
Some of our Eagles players were swagged out!
Wish I could see them up close and personal, but I wasn’t able to get to the front of the line, since I got there late. In fact I was probably 30 feet deep from the front, too far to take a good shot.
Fans were already starting to line up since 4 am! I’m a fan, too, but obviously not as dedicated. Waking up early on a day off is so against what my body has been trained to do.
Anyway, I made it there in time, to see a glimpse of the parade and be in the thick of the biggest party on earth. There must have been a million people there.
Now I’m tired, spent from all the yelling and cheering and elbowing people. Just kidding on that last one! There wasn’t any elbowing anywhere! Everyone was calm, polite, friendly, and happy.
It was as if we were one giant happy family. Smiling faces were all over the place. Definitely glad to be a part of.
Next up, the Winter Olympics!
But you’re not here for sports, are you? You’re here for food. Don’t worry, there’s plenty of food to drool over.

Hmmm, 4am seems really too early to fall in line for the parade. But who knows? I might be there as well if I am a dedicated fan, too. At least you’ve arrived in time, Angie! And congrats again.? Now, I am heading to our FF table to chat with our friends and of course, eat as well.? Happy Fiesta Friday, Angie!?
You like the Eagles, too? Yay!! The team with the best fans in the world! I got there around 11:30, the parade had already started but I caught it at halfway point, which was great! Thanks for cohosting, Jhuls! ??
I’ve grown up watching my father always in front of the TV watching sports all the time. I have heard of the Eagles, but haven’t really watched them play.? Now that I can feel your happiness, I might watch next time. I missed cheering and yelling.?
It’s always a pleasure, Angie!?
??
And oh, thanks for featuring my Calamansi Chicken.
Thanks to my co-host, too!
It sounds so good, your chicken. I used to have a calamansi plant, but it croaked! I think I can substitute calamansi with key limes maybe. Or kumquats??
I think the mixture of both limes and kumquats is perfect!
I will try that next time. I would try with lemon, too, but not really sure about the measurements. Thanks again, Angie! x
Wow, that looks like quite the party! I love a good party, but don’t do so well in big crowds, I think it’s because I’m so small and people just don’t notice me so I get bumped around a lot, then I get angry which is not a pretty sight lol. Thanks for the feature! Hugs:)
Lol, that’d be me normally, but it was hard to get angry at anything yesterday. I usually avoid the crowd but it was a chance in a lifetime so had to go. Crossed something off my bucket list! ? Nice lava cakes!!
It must have been an amazing weekend with your favourite team winning and the celebrations. Any thing exciting going on this weekend?
Yes, actually! We’re going to DC to check out a few restaurants. Nothing to do with Super Bowl, just an excuse for an early Fat Tuesday and Valentines’s day celebrations ?
Sounds nice, enjoy!
Looks like a fun celebration for a great win! The selections look delicious…and those cakes!
Have a great weekend Angie!
Thanks, Antonia, it was a great day for the city of Philadelphia. Now we’re moving on to Fat Tuesday, lol. Always there’s a reason to party ?
Hey Angie!! Thanks for having this fun food party each week! I read you said about co hosting….I was wondering last week how that works. Since you said about it this week, today is the perfect time to ask I guess!!
It’s easy to cohost, just need to set aside time that’s all. If you’re interested, let me know which week is good for you and I’ll send you the cohosting guidelines. I’m covered thru Feb 23, so starting Mar 2 onward I’ll be needing cohosts.
Okay!! For March I can do the 9th and the 30th!
Ok, I’ll put you down for the 9th for sure, and again tentatively for the 30th. I’ll send it you the guidelines as soon as I can. What’s your email address?
Awesome!! I contacted you through your Contact page so I didn’t have to put my email out in the open!!
Sounds good, I’ll be in touch!
Oh, I dunno, Angie. Seems to me there’s just a little too much celebrating and not quite enough Instant Potting (that’s a new verb, lol) going on out there! What a bunch of great posts featured! I could dive in to any one of them and be happy, happy, happy! I don’t know which one I like more!
Guess what? I did try Instant potting some pasta, tasted good but texture was weird and cheese was stuck on the bottom, bad recipe!! It was from a blog, but thankfully nobody we know ? Then I bought organic chicken to try making bone broth, but duh…it was too big, the chicken I mean (6 lbs) I couldn’t get it to fit! So ended up making broth the old fashion way. But promise, I’ll try one of your recipes soon!! What to do with boneless pork shoulder? Kahlua pork? Bo Ssam? Actually I might be checking out Momofuku this weekend, so I can find out once and for all what Bo Ssam is supposed to taste like.
Oh Angie, make Bo Ssam or maybe Pernil. Have you seen how much they charge for Bo Ssam at Momofuku!! I’ve got them both on my blog, here’s the Pernil and it is amazing!! https://frugalhausfrau.com/2017/01/26/pernil-puerto-rican-pork-shoulder-or-picnic-ham/
Sorry about your IP experience. I have had a lot of fails. I think my favorite recipe so far for the IP is the Greek Gyros, but they don’t really compare to going out for one, then the pho ga, and I love those maid rites!
I forgot about the Pernil. I’ll check it out, thanks! Then maybe I’ll invite my Puerto Rican friends for dinner ? The nerve! They never even cooked it for me! Are the Greek gyros also in the blog? Never mind I’ll go and check it out. Thanks!!
I was there too (just got back to DC, hence why I’m posting later in the day)! Mu husband is a huge Eagles fan so he was on cloud nine. We got there around 7:30 and got a pretty good spot. Glad you had fun
I found out today that many of my friends and coworkers were in the same vicinity that I was (across City Hall), yet none of us even saw each other. It was so packed! So glad to hear you and your husband were there enjoying the celebration! And it’s funny, I’ll be going to DC! Just for some R & R.
Oh great you’ll definitely enjoy DC! If you need any restaurant recommendations just let me know!
Thanks, Alex! What are your favorite restaurants? We ended up going to Momofuku twice but would like to try other places next time.
For ramen I love Bantam King and Daikaya. Buttercream bakery is awesome, Le Diplomate is fancy but always very good, Barcelona for Spanish tapas and good wine, Agora for Turkish/Mediterranean food. I’ve heard great things about Osteria Morini and Colada Shop but haven’t made it to those yet. Enjoy your trip!
Thanks! I’m definitely taking notes.
Thank you for the feature! I appreciate it! Looks like a great celebration, Angie!
You’re welcome, Jenny. Nice, healthy recipe, I’m sort of into healthy now ? It was a fun day for the city of Philadelphia!
Great features! Thank you for hosting! Have a fabulous weekend!
My pleasure, have a wonderful weekend! ?
Your joy and pride are palpable Angie ??? and all those people!!
It’s been a long time coming. Generations of fans have been waiting for it to happen. I have no doubt the Eagles will win again in the future, but the first is always the sweetest ? Btw, don’t know if you know, we have a British player in our team, Jay Ajayi ??
That’s all so cool! ????
That lava cake looks delish! Any rate, congrats on your win. Like some others here, I’m not good in crowds – a large metropolitan city on a regular day is hard enough (but I sometimes put up with some of that to get to museums or restaurants).
Thanks! I normally stay away from crowds myself but this was the one occasion I didn’t want to miss ? I don’t think I can live in the city, but a visit now and then is fine ?
Congrats on the win!!!
Thanks so much, Colleen!
Glad the Eagles won. I must admit I only stayed up until after the half time show because it was around 1:30am here in the UK.
At least you stayed up to watch the half time show. Some people think that’s the best part. Believe it or not, people over here also tune in for the commercials, not sure if they show the same ones over there. But yeah, so happy the Eagles won, yay!!
No unfortunately we just get our usual commercials but we have watched some of them on youtube before because they are quite amusing!
??
It looks like a great party! I can understand you didn’t get there at 4 am, that is crazy
Gorgeous features, delicious!
We know someone who got there at 2:30 am! Why??? I’m glad I was able to witness and participate in the fun without going thru too much pain, lol ?
2.30 am is truly dedicated!
x
Hi Angie,
Happy Valentines day and thanks for the party.
Thanks, Sadhna! Happy Valentine’s Day to you, too! ?
I’m here of course (I’ve been here all along) but just realised I’ve not left a comment?. All those positive thoughts, hopes and wishes Angie made your team triumphant???Hooray! I can’t even imagine the atmosphere but it certainly seems one not to be forgotten! ??Lots of lovely colourful posts this week being shared ?
Of course you’ve been here all along. You’re a cohost extraordinaire. So thorough, thoughtful and always so sharp, witty, and pretty…and basically amazing! ??
Awww, right back at ya!
xxx
How exciting, Angie!!
Thanks, Patty!??
What an amazing party! Well done Eagles by all accounts it sounds like an amazing game, sadly I missed it as had to be in work next morning & it’s shown so late over here! And always happy to co-host just yell! Midge
