Fiesta Friday #168

Apparently I’m a big fat liar.

I said I made hot cross buns and would bring them to the fiesta. Lie. Big fat one.

Well, actually it’s half a lie. The part about making the buns? True. See for yourself.

hot-cross-buns

I just didn’t have the time to write the recipe. No, that’s another lie. I was too lazy. Now that’s the truth. 100%.

So now it’s too late for hot cross buns. I am very sorry… They were terrific hot cross buns.

I’ll try to do better next time, okay? What’s the next big celebration? Cinco de Mayo? I can do Cinco de Mayo. I think.

There isn’t a short supply of good recipes at the fiesta, however. See for yourself down below.

On that happier note, I shall bid you a happy Fiesta Friday and an even happier weekend!

Features

Strawberry Ice Cream from Anugya @ Indian Curry Shack

They’re not too hard to make, just require patience and time, just like any other yeasty bread. I stuffed mine with cheesecake batter, that’s what makes them special ? Maybe I’ll make them again without the crosses. Thanks for cohosting! ?

oh Angie, ha ha I never bake and a yeasty dough sounds enough to make me hesitate! I love the idea of the cheesecake batter in the buns, I think I will wait for the recipe! 🙂

Yah, I know! That’s the problem with bread baking. And it’s even worse with sourdough. It can take days! I’ll gladly pay $5 for that sourdough boule, please, lol ? Kneading can be therapeutic, though ?

And thanks, everyone, for clicking on my Cheese Zombies!! I just about died tonight when watching tv and saw that Little Caesers is featuring something that looks suspiciously like these Zombies. *sigh*

I have the best buns! The best! When I look at other buns, they’re all losers. I win bigly! Or big league, whatever… We can all joke about it now ?? And the cheese zombies, omg!! I feel so deprived I’ve never had them before! Same thing with pizza bombs. Why are there so many great things out there that haven’t crossed my path?
