The hubs and I will be childless this weekend.
The son is away in college, and the daughter is going on a school trip.
This is a pretty rare event, for us to be free of childcare responsibilities for an entire weekend. And Monday, too, actually.
What should we do? Work on the various little projects around the house? Weed the yards? Go out on a date? Sleep for the entire weekend?
The possibilities are endless, hmm…
Or…I can always just hang out with you! I think that’s what I’ll do!

Ginger says
Well, I hope you got that starter started, Angie, for I’ve brought along a breadfest of the Easter variety that makes you forget Lent in an instant! Happy Fiesta Friday and have a wonderfully grown-up weekend!
Angie says
I saw! And I like! Maybe that’s what I’ll do this weekend. Babysitting the starter. Harder than caring for kids, no doubt ? Thanks for cohosting!
Ginger says
And you can relax! Read a book, undisturbed, without having to hide in the bathroom! Bliss!
Angie says
Lol! It didn’t work with my kids btw. They used to follow me to the bathroom.
Ginger says
Have you read Kolymski Heights? I absolutely loved it. Or The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox, if you’re not into thrillers? So many books! So little time…
Angie says
No, haven’t read either. Last book I read was Fantastic Beasts and where to find them. Only so I could keep up with the daughter, you know ? I was one of those crazy people camping outside the bookstore before a new Harry Potter book was released!
Ginger says
Well, if you’re ever planning on visiting Harry Potter World we’re living just around the corner from there and could mwet you in Diagon Alley for a butterbeer 😉
Angie says
Sounds like a plan ?
Angie says
I’ll make sure I’ll bring my wand!
Ginger says
Oh, and thank you for the feature! 🙂
Colleen says
What a surprise to be featured this week! Thanks Angie…and now I want this quiche again!!!
Angie says
I really love that quiche! I can’t wait to give it a try!
Teagan Geneviene says
Enjoy your free weekend. TGIF!
Angie says
Thanks, Teagan! But first I need to get to work. Why do we have to work on Fridays? ?
Lily says
I would definitely take a nap, enjoy a special meal (something that your kids wouldn’t like) and relax, relax, relax, since you are free from mom duties! Enjoy your weekend and thanks for the feature:)
Angie says
Great suggestions, Lily! I think I’ll do just that ? Your pretty cupcakes are perfect for Easter! ?
Megala says
Your post is a feast for our eyes ! It is also somewhat similar to mom duties!!
Angie says
You can say that again. Manning Fiesta Friday is a little bit like a mom duty, lol. Nah, it’s much more fun actually. Thanks for stopping by!
Elaine @ foodbod says
You lucky guys! I just love when we get that kind of time together ? I’d say, don’t do anything practical, just hang and enjoy each other’s company ❤
Angie says
That’s such a great idea! Maybe a picnic, with Skye? All I need is some bread and cheese, maybe saucisson for the husband. Sounds like a plan! ? Thanks, Elaine!
Elaine @ foodbod says
Lovely, enjoy it xx
Jhuls says
Yay! Whatever you are planning to do, enjoy! I suggest you ask the hubs to prepare breakfast for you? Happy FF, Angie! Have a fantastic weekend!
Angie says
What?! You want me to get food poisoning? Did I tell you he set off the smoke detector trying to make scrambled egg? He’s helpless in the kitchen! Thanks for the lovely thought, though ?
Jhuls says
Oh, really? I guess making scrambled eggs are not as easy as everyone thought???
Iwanttobeacook says
Enjoy your weekend Angie! I am sure it will be great 😉

Thank you! Thank you! It’s been super busy so I’ve got some blog hopping to catch up on! Looks like I missed some great stuff!
Angie says
Same here, busy as always, but there’s a change of pace finally this weekend. Yay! Maybe a little celebration is in order. Your pineapple prosecco may be involved ?
petra08 says
Sounds like a good weekend! I hope you will enjoy it! Thank you for hosting us all again, love being a part of it! 🙂 Happy weekend and Fiesta Friday!
Angie says
Well, since you love being a part, how about cohosting the Fiesta next week? I’m out of cohosts again! Don’t let me twist your arm, though. You say when, ok? ?
Ann GrubbsnCritters says
Sleeping for a week is a very good choice! ??? Oh dear…no kids…what WILL you do?! ??
Angie says
I’m thinking along the same lines, but not a week, good grief! It’s just a weekend, lol. You’re too funny, Ann ??
Ann GrubbsnCritters says
LOL. 😀
Laura @ Feast Wisely says
I hope you’re enjoying your child free weekend Angie – what a treat prior to the busyness of Easter!
Angie says
Thanks, Laura! Maybe the husband and I will have a picnic today. Yesterday was a little cold and windy.
