Is it Friday already?!
What a struggle it’s been to keep up with the days! Car trouble, sick husband, dependent children (of both the human and canine kinds) are keeping me frantic, frenetic, and frazzled.
Go ahead, throw in another f-word in there, I’m sure it’ll be applicable. Okay, not THAT f-word! This is a G-rated site.
I have no idea what I’ve actually accomplished this week. I even forgot a recipe post I was working on. Actually, make that several posts. All left in mid-sentence.
Can someone please rescue me? Swoop me out of here and fly me to the beaches of Hawaii!
The husband says, through much hacking cough, that he will. How sweet! But that’s beside the point. I’d still be stuck with him. Sorry, honey, just joking! I’d love to be stuck with you! But only on the beaches of Hawaii!

Now, take a look at these outstanding links from last week:
Casadielles – Asturian Walnut Donuts
“I’ve always wanted an alternative to beignets for Fat Tuesday. Okay, that could be an oxymoron, a beignet alternative. But see, my hunch has been proven right. It does exist! These casadielles are perfect for Mardi Gras, perfect!” — Angie
Blueberry Cream Cheese Buns from Ai @ Ai Made it For You
“These Blueberry Cream Cheese Buns look super cute. Love Ai’s creativity with these buns. It must have been a fun-break from the regular cakes that she could have made for her Dad’s birthday. I can’t take my eyes off from the cute-looking beardy man :)” — Anugya
Apple Oatmeal Whoopie Pies from Lily @ Little Sweet Baker
“I made whoopee pies a couple of times. Every time it turned out as a disaster, they were eatable, but they looked very ugly. So when I saw how perfectly shaped these are, and on top of that, made with oat, apple and peanut butter frosting, I couldn’t do anything but clap my hands!” — Margy
Slow Cooker Mexican Style Honey Lime Chicken from Mollie @ The Frugal Hausfrau
“What?! A 10-minutes-prep-dump-it-set-it-forget-it-recipe?! And it sounds and looks so yummy! You just gotta try this, gotta!” — Angie

So excited to see my casadielles up there! Makes me wonder if I should give up my Lenten healthiness already, two days in …
Thank you so much for the feature, Angie – I am sorry you’ve had such a crappy week. I hope things are looking up soonish. And then there’s always Hawaii 😉
Happy FF!
Angie says
And the cherry on top? Temps are back in the 30s, after days of glorious 70s! When it rains, it pours. Oh well, when things are down, there’s only one way they’ll go, right? Already there’s Spring break coming up ? The casadielles sound terrific. For Sunday treats, maybe? ?
Ginger says
Absolutely. If you stick to cabbage throughout the rest of the week …
Onwards and upwards!

Hi Angie! Sounds like you do need a holiday! But it also sounds like you haven’t been cooking enough! Cooking is the best therapy I know and it always somehow makes things better:)
Angie says
You know what, you’re right! And even shopping for ingredients and thinking of recipes can be uplifting. Sounds like my weekend activities are set. Thanks, doc! ?
Monika says
Anytime:)
Jhuls says
Hawaii sounds lovely, or any beach, anyway. I am so excited today as I am sharing a whole-30 compliant recipe! Yohooo!?? Happy FF, Angie. And thanks for the party.?
Angie says
You’re welcome, Jhuls! Oh, you’re doing a whole30, huh? Good for you! I find it very tough to follow ?
Jhuls says
I finished one month already.?? For this weekend, I am going to cheat ? then do a second round. Can you believe that I didn’t have anything chocolate or sweet for 30days????
Angie says
You have much more self control than I do ?
Jhuls says
You can do it, too, Angie!??
Lily says
Thanks for the feature! Sounds like your husband needs to treat you to a spa day Angie, and you need some quiet time to finish all your posts. So, your kids and pet will have to lean on dad if they need anything. Mom needs a day off:)
Angie says
Quiet time? What’s that? ? I’ll get to those posts eventually but by that time I won’t remember what I actually did with the recipe! Kids and pets leaning on Dad? What’s that? ? Actually he’s pretty good, just that he’s sick this week. Thanks, Lily! Oh your whoopie pies sound fabulous! Wish I could have a few of those…
Liz @ spades, spatulas, and spoons says
I think Feb-March is the worst part of the winter, and everyone on the West coast is coughing as well. It seems the flu vaccine was only partially effective. San Diego is a good escape, as is Hawaii, and a spa day sounds like a cure as well.
Angie says
And my husband ended up with a pneumonia, poor thing. But thank goodness he’s getting better. We used to go to Palm Springs, nowadays we just go to yardville. You know, the backyard ? Thanks, Liz! ? Oh, let me know if you can cohost. I need another cohost next week.
Liz @ spades, spatulas, and spoons says
Hi Angie, I just saw your message. I can co-host if you still need someone. We leave for Paris on the 23rd so I will be out of commission for a few weeks after that time.
Angie says
Yes, please! Your partner is Sarah @ Tales from the kitchen shed. She’ll be happy now that she has a cohost. It’s her first time! Thanks, Liz! See you tomorrow!
Liz @ spades, spatulas, and spoons says
Angie, would you please email me the co-hosting duties again? It has been awhile and I want to make sure I am on point. Thank you!
Angie says
Sent, Liz. See you tomorrow!
Liz @ spades, spatulas, and spoons says
Hi Angie, I also reached out to Sarah. I look forward to reading this week’s posts.

It’s a tough time of year, hopefully things get better soon as it warms up etc. For now its Friday and I brought you a cocktail 🙂
Angie says
Yay for Friday! Yay for cocktails! Thanks Caroline ?
FrugalHausfrau says
Hey Angie! Thanks for featuring my Tacos! This is the worst time of year if you ask me. I call it the Winter Doldrums. It never hurts to have blood levels checked this time of year, too. I can’t believe all the St. Patrick’s day food already – I’m lagging behind on everything. You did ask when I can host but things are so crazy in the next couple of weeks I’m not sure – but maybe the first of the month?
Angie says
You mean in April? First Friday of April is on the 7th. You can definitely take that if you want. Let me know.
I think I just have a bad case of cabin fever. And I need the sun!! Your tacos look so tempting and colorful and beautiful! ?
FrugalHausfrau says
Thanks Angie! April 7th it is, then! Will you send me a reminder? I’m so scatterbrained lately! We saw the sun for a few minutes today…then it was gone…
Angie says
Yes, I will. Thanks, Mollie! ?
FrugalHausfrau says
🙂 🙂 🙂

I think we just had one of those kind of weeks too. Hooray for the weekend and fresh starts! And thanks for welcoming us back each week! After Fat Tuesday, I decided I need more salad in my life. So I brought one to share. 🙂 -Julia
Angie says
Salad? I’m actually thinking of salad right now. Nice big bowl of loaded salad ? Will check out yours asap. Thanks, Julia!
Laura @ Feast Wisely says
Thanks for having me as the co-host this week Angie – so many great recipes already linked up!

Thanks for cohosting, Laura! ?

Sounds like you are having a rotten week. Hope the cure is a relaxing weekend! <3
Angie says
It’s been crazy, both at home and work. But it’s Friday and I just had a nice dinner so things are finally looking up. Thanks, Josette! ?
Ai @Ai made it for you says
Hi Angie! Thank you so much for featuring my dad’s face! haha.
Sorry you’re having such a crazy week! Hope you get to relax this weekend…

Thanks, Antonia! I hope so, too! I think I’m just impatient for Spring to come and stay ? Those buns are so cute! ?

Hi there, Angie! I’m willing to sign up to host again sometime say the last week in March, or sometime in April. Life’s been crazy, but spring is about to spring…. grin.
