Fiesta Friday #147

Helllooo… Excuse me while I roll myself off the bed…in slo-mo style…

Anybody else still alive??

Yah…I’m barely myself…

I did all the cooking. ALL!

thanksgiving-dinner-2016 | fiestafriday.net

Then I did the eating. Then I did the cleaning.

I had some help with the last two, though more on the eating than the cleaning. That’s how it always is with Thanksgiving at casa de Angie. I’m the ONE cook and general cleaner. Still, I shouldn’t complain. I have a lot to be thankful for.

I’m healthy…
I’m happy…
I have a loving family…
I’m not hungry…
And I’m not yet eighty…

Okay, nothing wrong with being eighty… As long as you’re healthy…happy…not hungry…and have a loving family…

Now, Features!

caramel-creme-pumpkin-pie

Caramel Cream Pumpkin Pie from Mollie @ The Frugal Hausfrau

“Pumpkin mousse, caramel custard, and meringue…I would be in heaven eating this pie! It not only sounds delicious, but is gorgeous!” — Antonia

“GASP! Stupendously beautiful! Breathtakingly impressive! Mollie, you’ve outdone yourself, girl!!” — Angie

The Ultimate Sandwich from Matt @RoughEats

“This is my kind of sandwich! First of all I like the ratio of meat to bread and Matt took a recipe from his roots and recreated it here with a cure, a rub and then smoking the meat to make a sandwich so good I just want to reach out and grab a piece. This is delicious comfort food!” — Petra

Lamb Shanks with Harissa, Saffron and Apricots from Zeba @ Food For The Soul

“This dish looks mouth-watering. I love the sound of lamb with apricots, it is one of those combinations that I haven’t tried but makes so much sense when I read it. I can almost smell the lamb cooking with the delicious spices as I am reading the recipe!” — Petra

Sweet and Savory Cornbread Cookies from Susan & Brandon @ Culinary Envy

“I think I could eat these cornbread cookies with dinner every night. Such a great idea and they look delicious!” — Antonia

Hi, the turkey looks magnificent, it must have been a heck of a feast! I am also the ONE cook and cleaner etc but am not complaining (too much) for similar reasons – healthy, loving family, not too old… The featured recipes look great, must get a closer look:)

This year’s turkey was declared the best! And I went with minimal seasoning. I guess my family likes their turkey plain ? We have lots to be thankful for, don’t we? Not too old is definitely one of them! ?
