Fiesta Friday #146

Do you think some day women can really understand men, or vice versa?

That was just rhetorical, okay, don’t take me seriously…

For the life of me, I can never understand how my own husband thinks.

He just bought me a 10-pound pork loin!

Do you know how big a 10-pound pork loin is? Just look at your leg, that’s how big it is.

What was he thinking?!

Oooh..it was on sale?? That makes perfect sense!

Is he out of his freaking mind?! Doesn’t he know how long it’ll take us to eat a 10-pound pork loin?!

That was just rhetorical, okay, don’t take me seriously… Of course I’ve seen a bigger piece of meat before. Or even cooked one. I’ll cook one again next week. You know, my annual 20-pound turkey?

Which brings me to my next point. I need to clean out my fridge to make room for that 20-pounder. But it just got harder with the 10-pounder in it.

Seriously!

Anyway, I cut a piece off it to make this…pork hominy bean posole stew thingy… Trust me, there’s pork in there…

posole-stew

I still have 8 pounds left…

(As I was typing this, Skye was looking at me intently… Hmm, can you feed your dog pork jerky?…)

Now, Features!

Okay that is a little ridiculous! At least he was trying to save you some money. Personally I would have had the butcher cut them into chops and then you could freeze them. To answer your questions; I will never understand YOU women!! Happy FF and Happy Thanksgiving to all my Fiesta Friday friends.

I would have done the same. We’re cooks, we know what to do, and may I add, the best people in the world, lol. The hubs? He’s a shopper not a cook! I would have thought you’re the one man who can understand us women, Quinn. We get along so well!! ??

I still have a wife of 25 years that I can’t figure out. Cooking and shopping, yes! The rest of the stuff, no clue! :)) Trust I cringe when Christie goes to the grocery.

I wish I can go with smaller birds, but these people I’ll be feeding next week expect a monster ? I’m happy to oblige since it’s only once a year but honestly there were times…Once I balked, went out to eat instead, then came home and was sad there was no leftover. I decided then cooking is easier than not having food ?? Happy Thanksgiving, Julia! ?

Hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving, Angie! I am too at times! I love when something works out for me perfectly with one go but usually I’m not quite happy and months later I finally get to publish! Seriously I’ve a backload of about 10 recipes that I’m not 100% happy with but I was sick of eating xyz for about 3 weeks in a row and it still not being what I wanted so I wrote down what I could and ideas to adjust but still have to get around to it! Haha ! Sorry for not participating last week – have a really bad upper respiratory infection and conjunctivitis was making the rounds in my family (thankfully, so far I’ve escaped) so I’ve been avoiding doing much cooking – the less food I cough over the better it is for everyone!

Oh no! Hopefully everyone is feeling better by now. There’s some kind of bug going around at my work, too. I’ve been lucky so far to not have caught it, knock on wood it’ll continue. And hey, don’t worry about participating. You can still party with us and view, visit, comment, etc. That’s another form of participation! ??
