Fiesta Friday #63

Hey, y’all! Happy Fiesta Friday! Isn’t it awesome that it’s Friday already? First week back at work after Spring break and I barely broke a sweat.

Trust me, I did everything they asked me to do at work and then some, but the key is to work smarter, not harder. That’s how you get things done!

And if I follow that same motto for my blogs (remember, I now have two), I could have done or achieved a lot more. Sob… For some reason, when it comes to my blogs, I’m really dragging my feet.

I sort of know what I want to do, but I don’t know if I should. I have ideas, but I don’t know how to implement them. I want a certain design, but I can’t be satisfied with anything I come up with.

Geez Louise! I’m getting bored of myself!!

Lucky for me, I have Fiesta Friday to attend! That’s the only thing that gets me going. I get so excited and I just can’t hide it…I’m about to lose control and I think I like it…

Okay, that’s enough excitement for now. Especially since I still have to come in to work this morning. But as soon as I get home later, I’ll party with y’all, promise!

In the meantime, you can party with Julianna @Foodie On Board and Hilda @Along The Grapevine.

But first, let’s take a look at our features of the week:

Stewed Beef with Tomatoes, Chipotle Peppers and Currants from Olga @ Oceanview Kitchen

“I love, love LOVE beef stew. The wonderful photography in this post was the first thing to catch my eye, the next was the wonderful combination of ingredients in this dish. Even though I’m ready for Spring, big bowls of hearty stew are good for me year round.” — Jess

“I thought I was so ready to embrace the lighter fare in light of the changing season, until I saw Olga’s beef stew! And don’t even bring the hubby into the conversation. I just flashed him the picture. That’s it, just a flash! And he was like…you want me to pick up beef on the way home? Lol, he’s a funny one! Actually, not that funny. Since I was also drooling along with him!” — Angie

Elvis Cake from Michelle @Giraffes Can Bake.

“Wow. Oh woooooooow. Michelle never EVER disappoints when it comes to baking. This girl knows how to bake a CAKE. It’s probably one of the richest, most sinful things you could put into your mouth (that’s what she said, lol), but that in itself is probably the reason why I just love this cake to pieces. Two thumbs WAY up to Michelle….and Happy Birthday :-)” — Jess

“Is there any other cake you’ll ever want to celebrate your birthday with after seeing and reading about this cake? There is none! I’m sure of it! This cake has everything going for it. Peanut butter, bananas, bourbon and bacon! It’s called the Elvis Cake! I expected nothing less! Happy Birthday, Michelle!” — Angie

Ben and Jerry’s Half Baked Inspired Cake from Hannah @Domestic Gothess

“You’d think I would be completely “caked” out after Michelle’s Elvis Cake, but just look at this cake! There’s no way you can resist! And that ermine frosting? Never even heard of it, but now I’m in love. Smooth, velvety frosting you say? It was love at first sound!” — Angie

Maple Waffle Chicken Nuggets from Stephanie @The Cozy Cook.

“This is such a good twist on the Chicken and Waffles dish. Stephanie should really stat bottling and selling the honey mustard sauce too. Delicious!” — Jess

“How good do these nuggets sound?! OMG, they have my name written all over them! I just love chicken nuggets and dipping them in sauce. And that sauce? OMG, I wanna swim in it!” — Angie

Hi Jhuls! I’m so glad to see your comment here! Were you having trouble at all leaving the comment? A few people complained about it, but it’s not like I know how to solve it!

Yes, it was, but it shouldn’t have been. You’ve commented before, so it should show up immediately. They’ve been going to my spam folder and I noticed that after a comment was posted, it didn’t give the commenter the option to follow the blog. Oh well, I guess I know what I’ll be doing this weekend. Fixing things! 🙂

Hey Ang!!! You just made a really good point- that FOOD bloggers barely have time to COOK because they’re so busy doing everything else blog-related! Like bug fixes and whatnot! You have a comment problem?! What the…! Feel free to share and I’ll see if I can help. What a pain right?!

Wow! The features this week are once again amazing! This week’s Fiesta Friday looks mighty good too! We’re on spring break this week. Well, my kids are, which means more craziness for me. I’m looking forward to quieter days ahead. Have a lovely weekend! -Julia

I know what you mean. Spring break for the kids means more work for moms 🙂 but it gets better as they get older. I have a teenager and an almost-teenager who acts older than the teenager! I love spending time with them, especially at home. My favorite day is when we don’t have to go anywhere or do anything and just hang out. 😀

Angie, I can completely understand your problems in a self-hosted site. I had similar frustrations and still do, wondering why some followers don’t seem to get my posts, etc….Hang in there! There is no hurry to fix things. Maybe tomorrow, things will be better! You’re right, FF does makes it all worthwhile.

Thanks for your words of encouragement, Apsara. And you’re right, there’s no hurry. We’re not in a race, except maybe with ourselves. I guess I’m just impatient for things to just happen. Though I’m not sure what “things” I expect to happen 😀
