I seriously don’t understand that I have to go back to work on Monday. What, why, how?? It’s a joke, right?! A big fat joke. And a cruel one, too.
I was just getting comfortable relaxing at home! I’m so not ready to go back! I’m definitely feeling sorry for myself…
But hey, look here, food photos! That should make me happy. All of a sudden now, I’m beginning to forget I’m mourning the end of summer. A little…
These are some of the more memorable dishes my family and I tried this summer.
Maybe they can serve as inspiration for new recipes in my kitchen. Well, not the gator or the escargot. I don’t even know where to buy those ingredients. But I can definitely do the fried green tomatoes. Anybody got a good recipe?
Oh, look! More recipes!

Gator bites? Tell me more!
They’re quite good! Taste a lot like chicken, with a hint of fish. This wasn’t my first time eating gator meat, though, but it was for the kids. The last time I had it, though, it wasn’t good. Chewy and fishy. Guess it depends on the cook or maybe the quality of meat.
Well, that fried green tomatoes looks so delicious!
Time flies when you’re having fun, right?? And yay, thanks for featuring my smore’s cookie bars. Thanks to Suzanne, too!?
Fortunately I grow my own tomatoes, so I’ll get all the green tomatoes I’ll ever want by end of season. Love your s’mores cookies, yum! ?
I am with you, Angie! Everything looks delicious!
Thanks, Antonia! I hope you’re enjoying the last of the summer. Didn’t mean to stress you out or anything, lol ?
It’s still summer, lol!
??
Thank you so much for the feature Angie it was great cohosting with Monika always there for you my friend❤️
You’re welcome. I had to feature that cobbler, had to! I hope I’ll have time this weekend to try it. Glad you had fun cohosting. I sure I’ll be calling on you again ?
Hey, Suzanne! Thanks for choosing my smore’s!?
I’ve had gator once – nothing special; no thanks to “snails” and yes I would love some green tomatoes. Never used them in all my years of gardening… Thanks for the feature as I am always happy to share a recipe, especially one with “shrimps”.
Lol about the snails ? The gator was good this time, but I had it before and it wasn’t good. I guess it depends on how it’s cooked ?? But yes, nothing special. I’d much prefer shrimp! Thank goodness I always have them in my freezer, so I’m going to make that bucatini today! Thanks!
🙂
Thanks for hosting! I had gator once and didn’t care for it! It was chewy
Yah, that was my first experience, too. But this time around it was good. It was thinly sliced and fried in batter then some lemony sauce on top. It was almost refreshing ?
Summer always goes by too fast 🙁 Good luck with your first day back and enjoy the last weekend of freedom!
I know, right?! Thanks, Alex, and thanks for cohosting! If you see an email from me, just ignore it ?
Thank you for hosting yet again this week! I look forward to it. Have a blessed week!
My pleasure, Marilyn. We love having you! ?
Hey Angie! Look on the bright side! Christmas holidays are only 16 weeks away!! :D. Oh, but before then, there is Thanksgiving, right?? But, I am beginning to mourn summer too… We don’t go back for another 11 days, though.
Hope your first week back is painless!
?? You’re making me feel much better already! And actually, Labor Day weekend is at the end of that first week for us. You’d think they’d let us have the summer all thru that weekend, but no….they want to be different, I guess. Where you been, J?
Back to work, boo. I’m loving this week’s choices at the party.
Salud,
Tracey
Work is so overrated ? Thanks, Tracey! Great weekend to you! ?
I feel bad for you, going back to work! Ugghhh! No snails for me, btw, thank you very much. I just can’t get by it. I don’t even like them when they’re alive…
You can congratulate me now, I survived my first day! I’m going to miss my morning naps ☹️ And the snails? I don’t know why we even ordered them; they’re really not all that tasty, lol. Conch fritters, on the other hand, are good! Guess it depends on what kind of snails and how they’re cooked. Oh btw, finally bought the Instant Pot ? It’s not going to explode, is it? ?
So glad to hear you’ve made it! I hear the the Instant Pots only explode if they’re stored in dark basements, hahaha!! I think you’re safe and the Instant Pots seem pretty darned safe – plus all thi\e guesswork is taken out of using a pressure cooker. O know on my stovetop one I’m always wondering if I have it at the right pressure or if too much steam is coming out or not enuf. There’s no worries with the instant pot. I didn’t bring mine up to MN with me, but am missing it!!
By the way – that fried green tomato dish with the elote! Genius!!
Another fun Fiesta Friday
So glad you’re enjoying the party! ?
Always! such fun people.
Totally!
