The daughter strikes again! Just before she left for college, she used our kitchen one last time to make us special treats. Well, not exactly THE last time… I’m sure she’ll come home for long weekends, holidays, school breaks, etc.
And that’s when I’ll force her to cook and bake for us, lol!
She really is getting to be very proficient in the kitchen. I’ve shared a couple of her recipes before.
The Spaghetti all’Amatriciana here.
And her beautiful Tres Leches Cake here.
I mean, they were restaurant-quality!
This time she made these Mini Pineapple Walnut Cakes with Cream Cheese Frosting.
She tweaked a Taste of Home recipe and made it better! I’ll have to pry the recipe from her and I will share it with you all. Those cakes were excellent! And her piping skills are pretty impressive, don’t you think?

Jhuls @ The Not So Creative Cook says
Angie, your daughter got her cooking and baking talents from you. I mean, look at those!! Everything looks so appetizing!!?
Angie says
Thanks, Jhuls! She tends to do her own thing, though. Which is fine by me because that way we get to taste different variations. Her mashed potatoes are out of this world! One day I’ll ask her to show me what she does. Btw, Jhuls, I sent you an email thru your yahoo address. Let me know if you got it.

Your daughter sounds wonderful, and everything looks great! Thanks for hosting us once again. I brought by some Shrimp with Creamy Tomato Basil Sauce. It’s a favorite way to enjoy those green tomatoes. 🙂
Angie says
Thank you. She’s a good girl ? Creamy Tomato Basil Sauce sounds incredible! With green tomatoes, too? Wow, I need to give it a try for sure!

When our daughters come home they tend to take over the kitchen, and I see some of me in all of them. Hope you have a wonderful week and thanks so much for the lovely parties!

Amazing to be featured with my Budget Beef Wellington this week! Thanks for hosting every week – I hope you enjoy the recipes I added from Homemade on a Weeknight!
Angie says
You’re welcome. The Budget Beef Wellington sounds awesome!

Thank you Angie for featuring my recipe. Our puppy is finally allowing me a little more time to write some posts. She is taking a nap under my chair right now.
Your daughter is clearly following in your footsteps, I’m sure you will miss her. Sounds like she will be close enough to come home for weekends, that’s a blessing.
Let me know if you would like me to cohost, anytime other than the first week of the month.
Angie says
You’re welcome. I’ve bought chicken thighs to try the baharat chicken. It sounds so flavorful! So great to hear your puppy is settling in nicely.
I’m definitely happy my daughter decided to go to an in-state college. Closer and also more affordable.
Is October 8 a good week for you to cohost?

So glad to see your daughter is following in your wonderful foodie footsteps!
I am willing to co-host this next week (or the week after that) – as mentioned in an offline e-mail, I am sorry for our crossed wires on dates for the last time I was to co-host. Let me know!
Angie says
Yes, so sorry about the miscommunication, my bad… I have scheduled you to cohost next week September 17th. Thanks so much for understanding!
I’m thrilled my daughter is interested in food as much as I do. She used to be picky about what she ate, but now she’s willing to try anything at least once. I’ve done my job ??
Of Goats and Greens says
I’ll be here!!! And yes, regards your daughter, yes you’ve done your job!
Angie says
Thanks so much! See you soon at the fiesta XO
