Fiesta Friday #314

Is anybody planning anything special for Valentine’s Day? I can’t believe it’ll be here next week. I was actually preparing a couple of posts to share with you to celebrate the day, but the pictures suck!

Darn these gray, cloudy days! Or maybe I need a new camera since mine is so old. Maybe I’ll ask for one as Valentine’s Day present, how’s that? Oh, honey… I call the hubster “honey” only when I need something. Otherwise, it’s “Hey, you!” Just kidding, of course. I’m very nice to him at all times.

The poor man has been trying to get us a reservation at Zahav so we can dine in style on Valentine’s Day but it’s not looking promising so far. He’s better off booking a reservation at Casa Angie, in which case I would serve Chateaubriand and Chocolate Lava Cakes. Two very easy things to make despite their fancy-sounding names.

How about you? What would you cook, bake, serve, or give to your Valentine?

Here are some ideas

Love Heart Valentine’s Day Cheesecake from Kat @ The Baking Explorer

Pink Lemonade Fudge from Meaghan @ 4 Sons ‘R’ Us

Valentine’s Fabric Wreath Tutorial from Katy @ Petals, Pies and Otherwise

Beetroot Soup with Coconut and Ginger from Melissa @ This Is Wholesome

I followed your link to Zahav. Looks lovely. Maybe you could do what my parents used to do, and pick a date near Valentine’s Day and go out to dinner then. (They didn’t like crowds, and they knew that food choices on dates like Valentines’ and Mothers Day were always limited.)

That’s a great idea! I’m not crazy about crowds myself to be honest. It didn’t use to bother me as much but now I want quiet ? Zahav is the recipient of James Beard Award for best restaurant in the country 2019; that’s why it’s so popular.

It is really difficult to get nice photos when the skies are grey. But spring is coming next month and that means clearer and brighter skies than this month? Hmm, hopefully. Anyway, happy Fiesta Friday, Angie. I hope all is well with you. I miss you!

Who’s ready for Cinco de Mayo?! I am! 🙋🏻‍♀️ May I suggest celebrating it with this Pineapple Margarita Chicken Quesadilla? You gotta make that Pineapple Margarita first, though.
