Fiesta Friday #259

So, I have this pain in my upper arm/shoulder area that’s been there for more than a week now and it just won’t go away.

If I were to describe the pain, I would compare it to tennis elbow, which incidentally I did suffer years ago when I was playing tennis routinely.

The good news is it’s on my right arm and I don’t have any other symptoms associated with a heart attack.

The bad news is it’s on my right arm and I’m right-handed, which means it slows me down considerably. Simple everyday chores take double the amount of time they normally take. That includes typing and therefore, blogging, which is frustrating.

On the upside, I’ve been receiving a lot of daily TLC from the hubster which includes therapeutic massages. Yes, he fancies himself a sports team physician owing to his watching sports on TV 24/7. Silly man! Oh, well, at least I have something to laugh about.

Now take a look at these!

Cinnamon Stamp Cookies from Jess @ Cooking Is My Sport

“Have you seen anything this pretty?! Maybe you have, but have you seen COOKIES this pretty?! Surely NOT! Just wonderful! I’m getting myself some mooncake molds, oh yeah!” — Angie

Easy Breakfast Granola Cups from Lizet @ Chipa By the Dozen

“Oh my, Lizet! These are just so gorgeous, and pretty clever at that! Deciding what to put in them will be the most difficult! Yummy!” — Laurena

Bakewell Tart (Gluten-Free) from Kate @ Gluten Free Alchemist

“If you’ve never tried this decadent British dessert, here’s the perfect recipe! Kate has a great story behind this recipe too (watch the sound clip)!” — Laurena

Gajar Ka Halwa/Carrot Pudding from Swati @ Food-Trails

“Yes, look again! This is vegetable for dessert! Swati has made a delicious halwa with options for everyone! Five a day the easy way!” — Laurena

Sorry to hear you are in pain Angie, I can so relate having had my wrist fractured towards the end of last year. I bet it does make all the activities so much trickier but at last you are getting massages 🙂 Hope the pain goes away very soon! x

Ouch, fractured wrist sounds too painful. I don’t think I’ve fractured anything, I’d be crying and screaming if that happens. What I have is most likely tendinitis. Still, the pain is real and I know it’ll take time to heal since I had it before. Thanks, Jo!

Oh my gosh Angie get to the doc! I am having so many issues, and it took me forever to get through the process of docs, xrays, cortisone shots, referrals, MRI’s and to physical therapy which took a while to get into, where she basically told me since it had been a couple of months (October) it will take longer to get in shape. And surgery is warranted for my other shoulder.

And then there are all the other issues in neck, elbow and hand, partially from compensating. oiy! – that’s why I missed last week! I never miss FF! And why I’m not visiting around like usual!

But, I’m getting better! And I’m here now!! And so far so many interesting posts!! And I want to make a bakewell tart!!

But what was the diagnosis they gave you? I’m baffled by my condition. I don’t think I did anything that could have explained it. Occasionally after stapling a bunch of papers I do get sore, but it’ll go away in a day or two. This time the pain stays, and hasn’t really abated much. I’ve made an appointment to see the doctor but it’s not until next week!

Owwee, I feel your pain, sounds stress induced if you ask me, I always get a pain in my neck or between my shoulders when I’m dwelling on something. In other news…LOVE the collection of recipes in your round up this week, great to see Kate’s gluten free Bakewell in there too – all the yums!

You may be right; I should learn some de-stressing techniques. Maybe meditation? It feels calming already just thinking about it. Love that Bakewell tart, too!

Even I have similar pain for 2 yrs now in my right hand…still haven’t improved as I’m right handed too though I try to use my left hand when the pain becomes severe. Regarding the round up, all these delicacies makes me want to try. Will start from breakfast cups.

2 years is a long time to be in pain, Lathi. I hope it won’t take me too long to heal, whatever the problem is. I’m going to give the breakfast cups a try, too.
