Fiesta Friday #258

Cody Parkey and the Double Doink. That’s the topic of the week around here. At my house. The husband can’t get enough of it.

Unless you’re into football, I’m probably losing you. Sorry… but honestly, around here, seeing the Philadelphia Eagles defend their championship is the most important thing at the moment.

And the Double Doink moment proves that there’s such a thing as bad luck, plain and simple. Poor Cody Parkey. As much as I want to see the Eagles win, my heart goes out to him. Poor, poor…guy… Hopefully none of us would ever experience bad luck like that, ever!

Okay, enough football talk. Let’s move on to more important stuff, like food.

Like These!

Beet Smoothie with Cherries and Kefir from Monika @ Everyday Healthy Recipes

“Have you ever seen a smoothie this bright and beautiful?!” — Kat

“I am a sucker for a good smoothie and this super nutritious and beautiful smoothie has me smitten!” — Suzanne

Cajun Style Fried Deviled Eggs from Meaghan @ 4 Sons ‘R’ Us

“Omg, these eggs!! Fried and Deviled?! Seriously, for real? I really, really need to give them a try. Perfect Superbowl food, I think.” — Angie

Our “Lighter” Tortilla Soup from Jasmine @ The Richmond Avenue

“Tortilla soup has been a favorite for years and I love the lighter version. It looks and sounds delicious.” — Suzanne

Chickpea Chocolate Chip Cookies from Ai @ Ai Made It For You

“Ai’s chocolate chip cookies look delicious! Since I eat gluten-free, I love that Ai used chickpeas in place of flour, but she didn’t skip on sugar, chocolate, or taste!” — Kat

Lol, I didn’t expect anybody to know or care about the Double Doink. Unless you’re an Eagles fan or Chicago Bears (that’s the team that lost) fan. It’s just football, nothing important ? Thanks for cohosting!! Love ya, Laurena! ??

Yep, you lost me. That’s okay, I’m here for the food! At any rate, I’ve been wondering what to do with all my eggs, and those Cajun deviled guys fill the bill. The smoothie looks great, too… hey, most everything looks great around here; have a Happy Fiesta! With or (like me) without football!

I figured as much. It’s just football, anyway, nothing important. Not like food or fiesta ? Those eggs are awesome! And dangerous ? But the smoothie is the antidote, lol. All coming together nicely.

Oh man, I’m so clueless when it comes to football haha. All I know is that my dad is a major Pat’s fan. New England Patriots… that’s a football team, right??

Your chickpea cookies are definitely intriguing. I’ve been looking into reducing refined carbs, including white flour etc. just to be a little healthier, you know. It’ll be hard, but hey you need to start somewhere, so I appreciate your recipe. Yes, that’s a football team alright, the one the Eagles beat last year to win the championship ?

Your son sounds exactly like my husband, lol. He has the big screen TV to watch his sports and I have my own to watch my Masterpiece Theater stuff, but he’s constantly yelling and hollering so it’s kinda hard to miss what’s happening on his end 😀
