Fiesta Friday #237

I can hardly believe there’s only just about a week left of my summer break!

Where has the time gone? Can someone bring it back, please?!

As usual, I still have many plans that are yet to be followed through, but time is quickly running out. That’s why it’s so important to keep telling yourself to never put off until tomorrow what you can do today. I guess I forgot to keep telling myself that. Oh, well…

I’ll be going to the beach to celebrate my last week of freedom, with a neurotic dog in tow. Who wants to come?

And now, features from last week’s fiesta

Cherry Brownies with Chocolate Ganache from Crystal @ Crystal & Co.

“I am a sucker for anything chocolate and cherry, so this recipe has my name all over it! But the best part is that there is chocolate ganache on top of it all!” — Julianna

“Perfect combination because cherries & brownies go very well together.” — Debanita

Olive & Feta Cheese Ham Biscuits from Colleen @ Faith, Hope, Love & Luck

“I don’t know about you, but I can feel that these biscuits are speaking to me, in a personal and intimate way. Make me, make me… that’s what I’m hearing.” — Angie

Ham with Honey and Lavender Plums from Petra @ Food Eat Love

“Petra’s post is just so darn elegant. Her combinations of flavours, using summer ingredients made me want to run into the kitchen and get busy making this outstanding meal!” — Julianna

Easy Cheese and Onion Quiche from Jenny @ Apply To Face Blog.

“This quiche sounds just perfect.” — Debanita

I am also shocked that summer is over! This was my first year with a “real job,” and I worked at the university through the summer. Non-athletes move on campus today, and I can’t believe it’s already that time of year!

Yes, summer being over… I don’t really feel that I had time for it to truly begin!! Seems like May was yesterday. At any rate, I’m out to cluck around with the chickens for a bit… happy Fiesta Friday! Back in a bit to explore the recipes as they wander in… that savory biscuit from Colleen from last week looks especially amazing.

How fun! I love chickens, they’re so comical. I had a pet rooster when I was small. Well, it grew to be a rooster, who was quite naughty, btw. Used to terrorize the dogs ? Thanks for cohosting ??

Only one week left?? We’ve just got back from our holidays and I am still a bit hyped up and full of holiday vibes but for us it’s only 2.5 weeks and 4 weeks for my youngest who is starting school mid September. End of an era in our household and trying to make the most of whatever is left of the Summer! Have a fantastic last week of your hols Angie! 🙂

Aaw…they grow up so fast! If you’re like me, you’ll be going thru separation anxiety or be at a loss for what to do. All of a sudden you’re free, no kids attached to your legs ? ?

Somehow it seems a lot shorter this year, partly because we had to make up for all those snow days. I have to say I’m not at all ready to go back ? I’ll put you on Oct 12, is that good? You’ll have an excellent cohost, Deb @ Pantry Portfolio.

Lol, Jenny, I sympathize. It’ll get easier as they get older, then you’ll be wishing they haven’t grown up and you can kiss them in public whenever you want. You’re welcome on the feature. I love quiche!
