Fiesta Friday #123

Hey ho, people! I thought for sure by now I would have had a recipe post published. It’s been a month since I last published a recipe. Even though I do have several drafts waiting, which for some unknown reasons, I just didn’t or couldn’t finish.

And when I looked at them again, somehow I just didn’t think they were good enough. How soon our feelings change in mere weeks. Or should I say, how soon MY feelings change.

And really, how can you fit in blogging when you have to juggle two moms? That’s right, people, I have both my mother and my mother-in-law with me. Together. At the same time. In my house. Sympathize with me, people!

Okay, they’re both nice people and all, but still! I would prefer to have one Mom at a time. That’s just my feelings. But who knows, gimme a couple of weeks of this, I might change my tune.

Now, Features!

beetroot hummus

Beetroot and Dill Houmos from Petra @ Crumbles and Kale

“It was the vibrant colour that first caught my eye. Indeed, we eat with our eyes first. And the dill is just a bonus.” — Aruna

“Is this a dip or dessert?! Won’t matter much to me, actually, since I love both. In fact, I’d be happy if all my meals are made of dips and desserts. And this dip?! Wowee! So gorgeous! I’ll make this, serve it with pride, and demolish all by myself!!” — Angie

Smoky Jalapeño Bacon Dip from Mollie @ The Frugal Hausfrau

“In case you didn’t know, I’m all about dips, people! I’m a Dipaholic and proud to admit it! This dip definitely has me written all over it. Cream cheese… bacon… jalapeño… well, maybe not too, too much jalapeño, but all my favorite flavors are there! I’m going to make this very soon!! And demolish all by myself!” — Angie

Honey Almond Gouda Cheesecakes from Ai @ Ai Made it for you

“I can only imagine how this incredible combo of sweet and savory must dance across the palate. They’re gorgeous, creamy goodness!” — Mollie

Honeysuckle Ice Cream from Hilda @ Along the Grapevine

“I often see ice-cream using exotic flowers, but here’s a lovely one I could make with what I could forage in my own back yard. If you’ve ever tasted honeysuckle’s sweet nectar you can begin to imagine what this must taste like.” — Mollie

I did say that to my husband! He was like, why are you so tired? So I said, why don’t you try staying home with the two moms and then let me know how you feel at the end of the day. He didn’t say peep after that.

Hi Angie, sounds like a busy weekend for you 🙂 How was the graduation? What did your son graduate from?
I’m sorry I’ve been away for a while – I let school take over for a bit plus some other stuff happened which meant cooking was put on the back burner. I know I said I’d help out with co-hosting at some stage so let me know when you want me. July is intense for me but I would be good for June or August.
The features are wonderful as always and I can’t wait to get stuck into this party. The Lemon Cream Cheese stuffed French Toast caught my eye already! x

Wow what stunning features. I decided to share my Harrods food hall visit it was like the old days at Fiesta Friday. I also tried the dictation feature angle it’s not quite as easy as expected either that or I have a weird voice as it kept typing totally random things I wasn’t saying lol. Good luck with two mothers!!! X

I use the dictation only when my hands are occupied doing something else. Otherwise I prefer typing actually. But it works for me. Maybe it’s geared toward American accent. I’m using it right now to make sure it works and it does, lol. I even try to speak really fast and it still works, ha ha. It even does the ha ha. Ha ha! Omg, I’m like a kid with a new toy. I need to stop!

You do realise the first bit that you typed sounded so wrong I won’t even mention wands!!! I am now dictating this and I’m speaking really really slowly like there is something seriously wrong with me oh yes I forgot there is. By the way how do you dictate commas et cetera

??? OMG!! You’re incorrigible! For comma or period etc. you just say comma and it will do it. It would even do exclamation points. You just say “exclamation point” Try it!

I’m the primary carer for my mum, Angie. She cared for me when I was growing up and now it’s my turn. It’s not an obligation or a duty, it’s a priveledge. I know it – most of the time. But some of the time it’s exhausting and it’s stressful. You’re juggling two mums. You need some ‘me’ time, Angie. I’ve arranged one day a week just for myself. I’m just saying. 🙂 hugs, hugs. xx
