Fiesta Friday #71

Oh, by the way, guys, I forgot to tell you, and I don’t know how it escaped me, but I’ve started a Vegan/Vegetarian Pinterest Group Board.

Follow Angie | Fiesta Friday’s board Vegetarian/Vegan Recipes on Pinterest.

Tracy @ What’s for dinner, Doc? suggested it and I thought… why not? Since there are many vegans/vegetarians in our group. And for me personally, I know it’ll come in handy since I’m always looking for ideas for all the vegetables I grow in my garden.

So, please join and/or follow! It’s an open group board, which means you can invite anybody you like to join. Just please treat it like it’s your own and keep it looking clean and spiffy. Love that word, spiffy 🙂

And now it’s time to party, with Laurie @ ten.times.tea and Jhuls @ The Not So Creative Cook. Laurie is a new co-host for us. Yay, Laurie!! So happy you’re on board! Jhuls is a veteran at this, as you all know. Very happy to have you as well, Jhuls!

I, meanwhile, will be out of town this weekend. Just to have a mini break before the real summer break starts. You want to ease yourself into it, you know 🙂 That’s my thinking, anyway. I’ll be checking in and out regardless. Can’t really stay away from the fiesta and from you all!

Besides, I find myself most productive when I’m in a car being driven somewhere, haha… There’s no TV or the garden or a mess somewhere, all needing attention! In other words, no distraction!

Now, let’s block off all distractions and pay our full attention to these applause-worthy posts from last week:

Foodie bloggers meet-up on Fiesta Friday from Justine @ Eclectic odds n sods

“Stop the presses!! A Fiesta Friday meet-up happened! In London! And I wasn’t invited! Just kidding, guys! I can not be any happier to hear about it! That is just so AWESOME! Look at those happy faces! I think I recognize everybody except for Marita. And she is more than welcome to join our fiestas! So…what exactly did you guys talk about? What exactly did you eat, drink? What were you wearing? Oh, ok, I can see from the photos what you were wearing, but I want to hear more details! More!” — Angie

Sweet Danube Traybake from Ginger @ Ginger & Bread

“I love this cake! It looks so beautiful and would impress anyone! The cake, the custard frosting… everything just made me drool and now I just have to make it at home!” — Dini

“This cake is just too incredible not to try! I can’t wait to go sour cherry picking just so I can make this cake! Such a special cake, Ginger! Love the name, too!” — Angie

Pear Clafouti from Loretta @ Safari of the Mind

“Loretta did a beautiful job with the photographs which highlight how creamy and custardy this Clafouti is. If I were at her dinner party, I’d say just a sliver – and then go back for seconds! This is a recipe I can see myself serving over and over.” — Mollie

Breakfast Beet Sliders from Sue @ Birgerbird

“I am always looking for healthier alternative breakfasts that don’t leave me feeling deprived. Here’s a breakfast that would make me feel pampered – it has everything – healthy carbs, beets and all they bring nutritionally and that gorgeous egg for protein. It’s very creative and very now!” — Mollie

“I was mesmerized by this! Yes, mesmerized! That picture sent me packing to the kitchen for some fried eggs. Then, with eggs in tow, I read more carefully. Whaaaat? Beets for breakfast? With your eggs? Isn’t that like the best mash-up breakfast idea ever? Well, what do you know, Sue’s entering this into a Food52 mash-up contest. Y’all go there now, and vote for her, y’hear? She’s one of our own. We take care of each other! Plus, this IS the best mash-up recipe there is!” — Angie

Strawberry Blackpepper Frozen Margarita from Michelle @ Giraffes Can Bake

“Michelle always makes things that I can’t stop thinking about 🙂 This is no exception! I love the combination of Strawberry and Blackpepper and it would taste amazing in this cocktail! I know that this will be one of my favourites this summer :)” — Dini

It was a great idea from Tracy to suggest a vegan/vegetarian Pinterest board. Awesome that you did it Angie. It’s nice to have our favorite vegetarian/vegan recipes in one place. Have a fun trip Angie! Happy weekend!

I hope I could go on a mini vacation, too. No TV, away from all technologies – but phone is an exception. 😀 I love Tracey’s idea about the Pinterest board.

Anyway, enjoy with the mini vacay, Angie. And thanks for having us. 🙂

You’re welcome, Loretta! Such a great idea using pears for the clafouti. What’s your Pinterest username? I’ll try sending you the invite, though I think we have to be following each other first.

Oh my, doesn’t a bit of training go into everything! I should adopt this philosophy for cake eating! 🙂 While it’s a bit of work, I’m also having plenty of fun as well!! Cohosting has made me realize how many other FF bloggers there are that I’ve somehow never visited, and I’ve also come across so many inspiring posts and recipes that I would have missed otherwise!

hah awe now i feel bad you weren’t there, but heck your not in the UK! Next time OK, you gotta be there. Marita hasn’t joined FF yet, but after the meet-up I am sure she will be here soon enough. The food was amazing as was the company, we had three courses with tasters inbetween and wasnt like most teas where you are inundated with cream and pastry, there were lovely savoury treats and very unusual sweet treats too! xx

I have yet to make the green tea mojito for your tea time. Correction, I did make it, just didn’t take photos, lol. The table was too messy! I’ll have to make more! 😀

Those margaritas are making everyone thirsty, Michelle! And if they have margaritas at breakfast, I would order one, lol. My husband would probably raise his eyebrows, but hey…when you’re thirsty, you’re thirsty. And when you’re thirsty, you only want margaritas 😀
