In the aftermath of our back-to-back trips to Madrid and California, I'm feeling exhausted and my husband is sick. I'm pretty sure the 100+ degree heat had a lot to do with it. That's how hot it was in some places in California the week we were there. But we did have a lot of fun, and it was gratifying to see friends and family we hadn’t seen in so many years. And what about the food you ate, Angie?! What about the food?! Yes, I can hear you 😂 Well, my foodie fiesta friends... I had Menudo ... continue reading...

Fiesta Friday #491
Hi, guys! Excuse me for posting this so late but I'm sure you know how hard it is to blog when you're traveling. I'm in San Francisco at the moment, writing this painfully slow on the iPhone, and half asleep in a hotel bed. So, excuse me... Also, excuse me for not including features but I haven't had the chance to peruse the links from last week’s fiesta. I will update this post once I have done so. For now, let me just share the best thing I've eaten so far in this place, i.e., ... continue reading...
Fiesta Friday #490
It doesn't look like I’m done traveling yet; I’ll be leaving for California in a few days. So I’ll be fiesta-ing with you from the West Coast most of next week and the next Fiesta. Speaking of next week's Fiesta, since California is 3 hours behind EST, I will have to wake up at 5:00 am to make sure my post publishes without a hitch next Friday, sigh... It's fine... It's a small price to pay... Traveling is supposed to be fun, right?! I'm sure I'll have a great time visiting with family and ... continue reading...
Fiesta Friday #489

Fried potatoes smothered in slightly spicy paprika sauce/gravy... what’s not to like?! However, mine didn't exactly live up to its authentic counterpart below, from La Casa del Abuelo. My ... continue reading...
Fiesta Friday #488
Greetings from Madrid, Fiesta Friday friends! I've been here for almost a week now. I think I've managed to stroll through all the barrios (neighborhoods) in the city! Just kidding! But I swear I’ve never walked so much in my life! So. The breaking news of the day is… the Spanish pilot union is on strike! That, coupled with the wildfire smoke engulfing the Northeast region, is concerning. I hope I won’t get stranded at the airport which would be the worst ending to an otherwise wonderful ... continue reading...
