Soup season is here, and what better way to celebrate than with this Creamy Gnocchi Zuppa Toscana. Arguably, there's no such thing as soup season, am I right? Soup doesn't need a season; it's always the right time for it! I feel the same about salads, by the way. But the cool fall weather definitely calls for comforting and warming bowls of soup. This soup is clearly Olive Garden-inspired. On a recent trip there, I felt a bit sorry for the daughter for not being able to order anything other ... continue reading...

With the arrival of cool and wet weather, the weeds in my garden are sprouting back rapidly. How can they grow so much faster, on neglect, than the plants you care for lovingly?! So annoying and frustrating, right?! So even though I'd rather be watching the new season of The Diplomat, my plan this weekend is to do a big fall garden cleanup. If there's one thing I spend my extra money on, it's definitely sushi. That, or pizza. They're what my family and I order all the time when we get hungry, and I don't usually make them myself at home. It’s occurred to me that making good pizza at home is doable, after all. See the pizza up there?! My ... continue reading...

Our school was closed yesterday, so naturally, I used my day off to do a taste test. Is there anything better to do?! I happened to be in an area where both Cava and Honeygrow were in close proximity to each other, so I thought… here is my chance to finally make a definitive conclusion on which restaurant serves better food. Well, they don't really serve, serve… do they? They're one of those fast-food restaurants masquerading as full-service fancy ones. That's not meant as an insult, by the ... continue reading...

Yesterday felt like a soup day for me, even though, according to my husband, it was humid and muggy outside. I wouldn't really know, as I was kept indoors with the AC running at full blast. I craved soup because I was battling nasal congestion and a scratchy throat. This time of year, I always seem to catch a cold. I stay healthy throughout the summer, but once I return to work for a few weeks, I end up getting sick. Could it be a coincidence that I work with elementary school kids? These ... continue reading...
