I spent an afternoon making these princess-themed cupcakes for a little girl who shares Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday.

It was an antidote to an otherwise dreary January day and a necessary distraction from a TV that’s constantly turned on. Watching TV hasn’t exactly been enjoyable recently, anyway.
The news is exceedingly bad and depressing everywhere around the globe. And there haven’t been compelling new shows that I’m particularly interested in.
Food remains the one thing that gets me excited. Until spring, when the garden beckons.
