Our school was closed yesterday, so naturally, I used my day off to do a taste test. Is there anything better to do?!
I happened to be in an area where both Cava and Honeygrow were in close proximity to each other, so I thought… here is my chance to finally make a definitive conclusion on which restaurant serves better food.
Well, they don’t really serve, serve… do they? They’re one of those fast-food restaurants masquerading as full-service fancy ones. That’s not meant as an insult, by the way, because obviously I frequent and like both restaurants.
Anyway, it was a tough decision but the results are in! From 2 somewhat finicky eaters (husband and son) and 2 somewhat opinionated eaters (daughter and me):
The winner is… BOTH! I know, lame… but we truly enjoyed both. Also, it was foolish, to begin with, to compare the two since they serve different types of cuisines. For what it’s worth, my daughter and I gave Cava a slight edge, while my husband and son preferred Honeygrow by a hair. But I can’t tell if the boys chose Honeygrow simply because they had J.T. Realmuto’s signature dish, since they’re both huge fans of the Phillies catcher.
At the end of the day, I would recommend both restaurants to anyone. It just depends on your mood for the day – Cava if you want Mediterranean, and Honeygrow for your Asian stir-fry cravings. Both restaurants serve fresh, healthy, customizable meals at affordable prices.
Next up, Dig vs Sweetgreen!
