Hello from across the pond, everyone! Yes, my family and I are still in the UK, but we should be leaving for home tomorrow, barring any cancellations out of Heathrow.
We’ve been enjoying lovely weather – is that what Brits often say to one another? Or is that just a phrase I picked up from Jane Austen’s novels?
What do Brits typically say when they greet one another nowadays?
“Whassup?” “Sup?” “Hey, homie?”
I actually did hear some of these phrases while walking around, so they’re not that much different from Americans, really.
We do have a lot in common, including the food. There are, however, several quintessential local specialties that can only be enjoyed when traveling here.
Here are some of them.
This is obviously far from an exhaustive list because I’ve only travelled in one section of the UK so far.
Next time I come here, I’ll try to explore other parts of the country, specifically the northern part.
Okay, then, Fiesta Friends, let’s party!
But First We Look At These:
“This is going straight on my to-make list!” Jhuls
“My family’s favorite potato salad! I did a taste test and the clear winner was the Japanese-style Potato Salad.” — Angie
“YUM! They sound so scrumptious!” — Angie
“Perfect little bites of sweetness!” — Jhuls

Hi, Angie; thank you for hosting another great fiesta, and many thanks to you and JHuls for featuring my Suspiritos (Little Sigh Meringue Treats). This week I brought another dessert #30 Reina de Fresa – Strawberries and Cream Cake. Enjoy your weekend!
I would love to try authentic fish & chips, someday I will get to the UK to try it! Have a lovely weekend!
Wow! Look at the Fish & Chips! Have fun, Angie.
And oh, thank you for featuring my Japanese-inspired Potato Salad! x
