Hey, check out the solution I’ve devised to save money on groceries, especially eggs, which are soaring in price.
I’ve started serving my food in small bowls and plates to give the illusion that I’m eating a full meal.
Besides, eating smaller portions helps discourage overeating, which is fitting for now since we’re observing Lent.
Honestly, though, I just want to showcase my newly acquired vintage plates. They’re my new obsession! I want things that look decidedly old-fashioned.
I don’t want to downplay the issue of food insecurity, of course. My family is lucky that eating less is a choice, not a necessity.
And when it comes to eggs, my choice is for the cute little quail eggs. If anyone objects, just say it’s eggflation 😁
Now, Let’s Take a Look at These!
“I’m definitely making this! I hope my asparagus plants will give me a harvest this year. I’m pretty sure they’ve been stalling on me in retaliation for being moved around too many times!” — Angie
“Chicken and waffles in taco form? Genius!” — Jhuls
“What. I’ve never heard of these Resurrection Rolls before. Sound easy enough to make, and look scrumptious!” — Angie
“Love how these are both fancy and simple. Total crowd-pleaser!” — Jhuls

I do a lot of baking and fortunately eggs have dropped in price (somewhat) in North Texas ($3.99 for dozen large last week plus $.50 coupon) ~ but I also have a carton of generic “egg beaters” and generic “egg whites” that I will use for baking (could use for scrambled eggs too). 18 eggs worth in a carton of egg beaters for just over $4, and the advantage for me is that there’s only 2 of us home now, so if I want to cut a recipe in half that has 1 egg in it, it’s easy to do with egg beaters! Also, when I need beaten egg whites (but not the yolks), it’s much cheaper to use the ones in the carton.
Gosh, I’ll take $3.99/dozen anytime! It’s twice as much here in NJ, but I haven’t shopped around. A coworker said it’s less expensive in certain grocery stores. Maybe I should petition my store to lower their price 😂
WOW Amazing features, Thanks Angie, for hosting. Enjoy the weekend

Thanks, Esme! I hope you’re having a great week! XO
My Uncle used to make us Resurrection Rolls each time he came to visit. He made a fast version with biscuit dough. We were always impressed as little kids, and surely enjoyed those visits. Thanks so for hosting, there is always something delicious to see here! Melynda @scratchmadefood!
How fun! I may just adopt the tradition and make them with the little ones in my family.
