Fiesta Friday #534

Have you ever heard of the term “rewilding”? It refers to an effort or a movement if you want to call it that, to return your garden to a more natural or uncultivated state.

It does seem to be gaining momentum or getting more popular. I’ve been encountering more and more articles advocating it.

In principle, I agree with the idea of rewilding. In practice, however, it’s a little unnerving to do it.

If anything, I’m guilty of doing the opposite – I’m constantly “de-wilding” or reclaiming the wild part of my backyard and turning it into a landscaped area.

But last year, out of curiosity, I bought and planted pink dandelion seeds. Yes, the lowly and weedy dandelions! This year they’re flowering, look!

They’re pretty enough to mingle with the other flowers, don’t you think?! I can add them to my perennial border and let them go wild and multiply.

But what if they escape and start to invade the lawn? My husband will no doubt throw a fit! And I don’t want to be responsible for introducing an invasive species to the area.

See… I told you it’s hard to get on with this business of rewilding… For now, they’ll stay in a pot and be closely monitored.

Who’s ready for Cinco de Mayo?! I am! 🙋🏻‍♀️ May I suggest celebrating it with this Pineapple Margarita Chicken Quesadilla? You gotta make that Pineapple Margarita first, though. Coz that’s the marinade for the chicken! As if I need to twist any arms. 🤣 The more margarita, the merrier, says people everywhere. 🍸🥳 Link in bio!
