It’s a McDonald’s day…
Not!
We do actually patronize McDonald’s every now and then, but this meal is not from them. Because first of all it’s homemade… using vegan meat! So instead I should have said… It’s a MockDonald’s day!
The MockNuggets are made with seitan and the burgers are made with Beyond Burger patties.
I’m pretty satisfied with the way the “chik’n” nuggets turned out, but of course there is room for improvement. They’re passable for now since I saw the daughter munching away happily. She is my vegan customer and it’s important that she likes my vegan meals.
When I finally make a version that knocks her socks off, I will share the recipe.
Now It’s Features Time!

Angie, what you did looks amazing! I am not vegan but I would happily enjoy this meal. Happy Fiesta Friday!

Thanks, Jhuls! I’m getting better at making vegan meat that tastes meaty 😄 I even made vegan beef recently! Also thanks for co-hosting! XO

hi Angie
Wow that meal looks delicious! There was a stall selling seitan at the market last week, they have never been there before. We got talking and it was so interesting. I have never made seitan before but feel inspired!
I know I brought a pork recipe this week but my diet is much more vegetarian/vegan than before and I feel so much better for it! 🙂
I can’t believe it is FF nr 498! You are amazing and thank you for hosting us yet again, I am so glad I could make it!

Making seitan is kind of fun actually. Almost like playing with Play-Doh LOL. I definitely highly recommend it. I still eat meat, btw, and pork is a favorite so I’m looking forward to seeing your recipe. I can’t believe it’s almost FF 500!!

Oh Angie, thank you so much for hosting and featuring our tiramisu! Sometimes I am thinking of giving up on this blog, but it’s you guys that keep me going. I can’t explain the feeling when drinking coffee in the morning and seeing this. These are moments beyond precious. And I must admit the recipes at your parties are getting more and more beautiful and it is always such a pleasure coming here. Wish you a blissful weekend and see you again soon 🙂
Angie says
You’re very welcome. Your tiramisu recipe is truly inspirational; I’m going to adopt it as a special Christmas dessert because we usually enjoy speculaas around Christmas time.

How were the Beyond Burgers? It was very clever of you. You have a lucky daughter.
Angie says
They were really, really tasty! I was pretty impressed with how good they were. I’ve also tried the Impossible burger, which to me tasted more like meat than Beyond Burgers. But they’re both flavorful in my opinion. For chicken patties, I like the Gardein brand.
