So, did y’all survive the official start of Season’s Eatings? I mean, Thanksgiving?
I’m happy to report that I’ve survived another year. Now, onto leftovers… It was a 20-pounder bird for only 5 humans and 1 canine this year at Casa Angie. While it was nice that everyone can fit into our dining room, unlike some other years when we were spilling all over different rooms, fewer people also means more leftovers. Quite substantial amount, actually.
What to do?! I’m pretty sure y’all have plenty of ideas. Let’s hear them, please. I need them!
First, something to consider from last week’s fiesta:
“Mollie is a pro at entertaining. She always brings different kinds of food, but it’s the chocolate that I’ll enjoy first. Life is too short – eat dessert first! Mollie’s Chocolate Glazed Tart got my craving started that I almost licked my screen. It looks perfect, from the crust to the pretty whipped-cream topping!” — Jhuls
“This Stunning Chocolate Tart is just perfect for your holiday table. I simply can’t stop thinking about it!” — Jenny
“Very seasonal blondies using ingredients such as candy cane kisses and white chocolate mint M&M’s. Occasionally peppermint can be overpowering and this combination seems just right in this recipe. Leslie has shared a colorful addition for your holiday cookie table.” — Judi
“Bowls of all kinds are very popular right now and I’m just starting to get interested – bought my first cookbook just on “bowls.” Linda has included lots of delicious and healthy ingredients such as quinoa, sweet potato, corn, black beans, spinach, some walnuts and feta cheese. She says to use the dressing of your choice but has used a poppy-seed dressing and a chipotle-lime dressing when she made this bowl.” — Judi
“I love that the crust has basil in it – it must be so tasty! I love sweet tarts, but it is nice to try something savory, too, and Vanitha’s tart is a good recipe to start with.” — Jhuls

From the J’s to the M’s this next week, I see! Looking forward to the recipes this week!
Yes, we did a fair amount of eating yesterday, and I go to another Thanksgiving repast tomorrow night.
Angie says
lol, it’s the Mo duo this time ? it’s actually just a coincidence but it’s interesting that it happens. Another round of feasting? That sounds like fun ?
Vanitha says
Wow!! Thanks so much for featuring my tomato tart this week! Feel so honored and appreciated! Happy FF dear friends!
Angie says
You’re welcome! It was a pleasure to feature your beautiful tomato tart.
Kat (The Baking Explorer) says
Happy Thanksgiving! Hope you had a wonderful day
Angie says
Thanks, Kat! For once in oh…at least 15 years, I had a mostly stress-free Thanksgiving, so yes, I had a great day ?
Irene says
Hi, Angie, thank you for hosting another great party! I am thinking that my dish this week could easily be adapted to leftover turkey, making a rich turkey-carcass broth, and using turkey meat instead of beef. Anyway, let’s do the Fiesta Friday, and have a great weekend!
Angie says
My pleasure! From your description, I think your dish sounds promising, Irene. Wish I had saved the carcass, though. But I did save the juice that collected on the bottom of the pan, thank goodness! ?
frugal hausfrau says
Thanks guys for featuring my tart! It tastes just like chocolate truffles! I’m so happy to be co-hosting! Then I know I’ll visit everyone. I’m with Angie – I love to see some good leftover recipes right after Thanksgiving, but then I do get tired of turkey so everything else is just as welcome, too!
Happy Fiesta Friday!!
Angie says
What! Your chocolate tart tastes like truffles?! But that’s my MOST favorite thing in the world! I must try the tart! Thanks for cohosting, Mollie. Love ya! ??
Mareliz says
Thank you so much for hosting.I hope you like my Caramel Chocolate Oat Squares. Have a great weekend.
Angie says
My pleasure, Mareliz! Your caramel chocolate oat squares sound scrumptious ?
Monika Dabrowski says
No I haven’t forgotten! I came back from Poland late last night and had no strength to open up my computer. I’ll be back to do my co-hosting duties later on today and probably tomorrow too. Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving. Judging by what was on your table it was successful and super delicious. Have a nice weekend!
Angie says
Thanks! Oh how nice to visit Poland; were you visiting family or was it just a vacation? Or both? Next time I travel to Europe I’ll have to stop by Poland; I have a friend whose mom is from Poland and she’s been telling me all the wonderful things about the country and the food, of course ?
Jo Allison / Jo's Kitchen Larder says
Oh wow Angie, what a fantastic spread! Your bird looks fabulous! The more leftovers the better plus in situation like that I also find freezer is my best friend! Enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend! 🙂
Angie says
Thanks, Jo! The bird was great, moist and flavorful, but the sage leaves decorating the platter were kinda sad and limp, so it wasn’t the prettiest Thanksgiving turkey. Oh well… Yup, lots of leftovers in my freezer right now, probably will end up in sandwiches and pasta, like always ?
Jhuls @ The Not So Creative Cook says
That bird looks so sexy on your table, Angie. Sexier than me, I must say!! Hahahaha!!
Thank you for hosting another amazing party & thanks to our co-hosts, too. I hope you are having a fun weekend!
Sending love…
Angie says
Sexy bird, Jhuls?! What have you been smoking…er…I mean, what have you been eating? ??
Helen at the Lazy Gastronome says

Angie says
Me, too, Helen. Especially since we won’t be traveling anywhere this year, unlike many other years ?
Lathiya says
