I forgot to tell you about my visit to Momofuku CCDC. Just like I forgot to tell you about many things.
Anyway, here’s the famous Bo Ssam from Momofuku:
I wasn’t as taken by it as I was with their Soju Want It.
So dangerously refreshing and lemonade-like, I could have easily downed a few glasses of it.
Flavored with lemon grass and shisho, the menu description said, if I remember correctly. That’s great! Shisho grows wild in my backyard and I usually end up with a big bush of lemon grass without knowing much what to do with it except for flavoring Thai curries.
Come summer, I’ll be making pitcherfuls of this. Time to stock up on soju. If you have any soju cocktail recipes, I’m interested.
Also, in other news, I ran out of cohosts. Again!
So this week, I’ll be hosting all by my lonesome self. You can help me select features by voting for your favorite links. Just come back on Tuesday to register your selections.
Cohosting is painless, by the way. So if you’re interested, please let me know. Thank you all very much!
Now let’s look at these fabulous recipes from last week’s fiesta:
Ube Loaf from Jhuls @ The Not So Creative Cook
“A stunning and mouth-watering loaf of goodness! I love the swirls and colors, and it looks like it would melt in your mouth. I bet it is amazing with a cup of coffee!” — Antonia
“This loaf looks soft and tasty and gorgeous. I may not be familiar with ube jam, but I’m throwing my reservations aside and diving in, mouth first!” — Diann
Guinness Cupcakes with Sweet Cream Chocolate Frosting from Kelly @ Food, Fun & Faraway Places
“Get ready for St. Pat’s Day, just down the road, with these attractive cupcakes, flavored lightly with some good old-fashioned Guinness!” — Diann
Spice Cake from Antonia @ Zoale.com
“How stunning is this cake?! I love the way it’s decorated. It looks perfect for a special day, like Friday for instance.” — Angie
Paalak Patta Chaat from Kriti @ Krispy Kadhai
“In honor of Holi, the festival of colors, comes this savory vegetarian Indian dish. It looks fantastic, and flavorful!” — Diann

Hi Angie, finally I made it to the party again (thanks to the Beast from the East, a cold weather front that has been keeping the schools closed …). I’ll try my best to make up for the lack of co-hosts!
We’re dealing with a nor’easter over here. So far, not too bad for our area but I’ve probably just jinxed myself! Great to see you, we’ve missed you terribly! You can help me cohost anytime. Tell when you’re free.
The weekend after the Easter weekend? Would that work for you? We’ve got a cold front from the East, Siberia apparently, and that’s just collided with ‘Emma,’ who has come in from the other side. It’s snowing beautifully now!
April 6? That would work. I’ll pencil you in, thanks! Stay warm!
xx
So, that drink sounds absolutely amazing…a must try!!!
It’s light and refreshing, a worthy rival for my favorite mojito! ?
That drink looks so refreshing! I absolutely adore drinks like that! Thank you so much for the feature, I am always honored to be among such talented bloggers! Thanks for the great start to my day! Have a great weekend and Happy Fiesta Friday! 😀
Your cake is gorgeous, it deserves the spotlight! I’m glad I can help you get a great start to your weekend ?
Thank you! 😀
Lovely choices with the Ube loaf and Spice cake 🙂 Happy weekend Angie.
Thanks, Trupti! You, too, have a wonderful weekend! ?
Thank you for featuring Paalak Patta Chaat 🙂
You’re welcome! I’m in love with chaat! Happy Holi!
THAT lemonade-like thingie is really refreshing. And refreshingly deceiving. ?
Love the ube loaf!
Exactly! Soju may be my new favorite beverage. That was my first experience with it. It must taste like water on its own since I couldn’t even tell it was alcoholic ?? Watch out vodka, you’ve been replaced!
I’m here 🙂 Well, not really, but I’m trying! Oh no, no co-hosts! I can do sometime after the 15th as hopefully I’ll be back to myself by then. Oh Jhuls and her Ube! Love that colour and perfect texture too! 🙂 x
Mar 16, then? Is that good for you? That ube loaf is a piece of art!
Lol… I will say yes, but you’ll have to remind me! 😛 x
But then you’ll have to remind me to remind you. Alright, I’ll try my best to get hold of you a few days before.
Thanks, darling Laurena! x
You know what… I’m going to do an Ube hunt right now so I can start making some of these delicious Ube creations of yours! 🙂 I’m getting quite a collection! 😀 x
Haha thanks, Laurena?
Hi Angie
Momofuku sounds great, and the drink delicious! Delicious features and I am so glad I actually made it this week!
I could do next week but will join you a bit late, on the Sunday if this is ok? If you still need someone of course!
Am taking on the Beast from the East tomorrow at the market and am hoping that storm Emma will not come here, otherwise me and my gazebo might be found across the channel in France! 🙂 Happy Friday! x
Momofuku was a hit when it first opened, and still has loyal followers. They do come up with the most creative dishes, much like you. You’d love Momofuku. Stay safe tomorrow! I’m surprised the market hasn’t been cancelled. We’re in the middle of a nor’easter right now. It was near blizzard condition when I drove home from work today.
Next week is taken, but I’d love to have you the following week, Mar 16. Laurena will be your fellow cohost then. Is that good for you?
hi Angie
I have traced some recipes from Momofuku and have tried to make them, they never look like their food but taste amazing and I am sure I would just love it!
The market was very small I have to say but it was a lot warmer that the previous days so good in the end!
I hope the snow is melting, it was pouring with rain today so the snow is just a memory.
I can’t do the 16th March but could do the 24th if that would work for you? xx
Okie dokie, I’m putting you down for Mar 23. Thanks, Petra! ?
Hi Angie perfect! Thank you for having me again 🙂 xx
Perfect, look forward to it 🙂 x
Great! Thanks! ?
It’s always a pleasure to stop by and join your party. Thank you for hosting!
That’s great to hear, Jas! We love having you! ?
??
That Bo Ssam looks soooo goooood. I’ve only had their ramen, I need to try that 😀 I’m happy to cohost if you need someone. Any upcoming week except 3/23 and 4/13 work for me!
Here’s what I honestly think about the bo Ssam – it’s good but not great, I’d give it 7/10. My husband liked it but I thought it was too salty and oily. It’s a great concept, though. I’m waiting for someone to confirm if they’ll cohost Mar 16. If they can’t do it, then I’d love to have you. I’ll let you know as soon as I get an answer. Thanks, Alex! ?
Hello, Angie. I have to Google Momofuku – it sounds fun in there! 😀 Thank you so much for featuring my Ube Loaf – thanks to Diann & Anotnia, too. I am skipping FF this week, but I’ll be joining FF#214. I hope you are having fun!
Where have you been, Jhuls?! How is the new blog coming along? Your ube loaf captured everyone’s attention, mine included ?? Looking forward to welcoming you next week, along with a brand stinking new blog, maybe?! ?
I am getting there, but it doesn’t look very different from my current blog – just took the domain? And it will not go live this coming Friday?
I ate at Momofuku in NYC about four years ago… we loved it there!!!
Right now, there is at least 16-18 inches of snow out there, and it may well be 20! Stuck in for the duration, at least I have power.
We stayed in DC just for the weekend, and ate at Momofuku twice ? We got about 6-8 inches. Our schools are all on delayed openings today. I hope they cleared the roads; I was stuck a couple of times yesterday. Luckily not many cars were out there ? Stay warm and safe, Diann!
