I survived my first week of back to work, peeps!
I didn’t fall asleep at work, not even once, even though my body had gotten used to taking morning naps for the last two months.
I think congratulations are in order, don’t you think?!
Now if I can survive this weekend, with the mountain of laundry and stuff just strewn all over the house, and the jungle in the backyard – all confronting me rudely in my face – I think I deserve a celebration!
That’s right, peeps, on Labor Day weekend, I’ll be laboring!
But I’ll be able to live vicariously through you. I know y’all will have the perfect Labor Day weekend full of good food and happy memories.
Now, Features!
Aperol Spritz with a Twist from Shinta @ Caramel Tinted Life
“In my opinion this is the perfect drink for this time of year. The cava and soda water give it a nice Summery sparkle and fizz while the color is just so perfect for the transition into Fall. It is a gorgeous looking drink, and I love anything with some sparkling wine!” — Alex
“Monika took an awesome basket of ingredients and turned them into an even more awesome meal. I don’t know much about Caribbean cuisine but this post had me wanting to try some immediately!” — Alex
Beer and Cheese Biscuits from Antonia @ Zoale.com
“I’m a sucker for biscuits! Of any kind! But especially ones that have cheese melting and oozing out of them. And the kind that’s served with a puppy on the side :D” — Angie
No-Bake Tiramisu Cheesecake from Sarah @ Sarah’s Little Kitchen
“Sarah took two of the all time best desserts, put them together and it’s no-bake! I also love how she used speculoos for the crust!” — Alex

Hi Angie, congrats that you didn’t fall asleep! I am still waiting for my holiday to start (only 7 more days!). The Aperol Spritz looks amazing!
Thank you, Jenny! I thought myself I did extremely well, didn’t even yawn once, lol
Hi Angie! Thanks so much for featuring the cheesecake <3 Let's get this party started 😉
Woohoo, let’s partay!! And you’re welcome!
Those cheese biscuits of Antonia’s are on my baking list this weekend – the oozing cheese got my attention 🙂
Mine, too! Let us know how yours turn out. Thanks for cohosting, Judi!
Thanks Judi, I hope you enjoy them! Have a great long weekend!
I am glad you had a good week back to work Angie! I hope you can find some time to rest this weekend! I am so thrilled to be featured again, and among all these delicious dishes too! You have made my day! Happy Labor Day weekend! 😀
There’s something about biscuits and puppies that I find irresistible 😀 So glad I’ve made your day. Have a great long weekend!
Thanks, you too!
Hi Angie! Have a good week back to work. My little baby started Kindergarten this week. I’m proud and upset our boys are growing so fast. Time flies! Good bye summer…I’ll miss you!
Thanks! And sorry to let you know that it’s only going downhill from now on. Just kidding 😀 But, yes, they grow up way too fast! I’m not too thrilled either that my son refuses to come home for the long weekend. He’s only been back to college for 2 weeks, but hey, long weekends means you come home, right?!
Congratulations on surviving your first back to work week! And thank you so much for featuring my Caribbean inspired recipe! Have a good weekend, put your feet up and leave some of the laundry for later:)
Thanks and you’re welcome! And that is so tempting! To just ignore the laundry and the garden. Maybe I actually will. What’s the harm?!
You deserve it! Just as long as you walk the dog…
What?! I have to walk the dog, too?! Lol!
It’s what the dog whisperer (Cesar Milan) would say:)
Greetings,
I am new here and new to this link party concept. I hope that I did it right. I will visit some of the other blogs above. I really appreciate you putting this on! I am Ronnie from SC and I do restaurant reviews, product reviews, and recipes. Hope to make friends with some new bloggers.
Thanks in advance,
Ronnie
Welcome to Fiesta Friday, Ronnie! You’ll definitely make new friends here, guaranteed! 🙂 And I personally LOVE southern food, so I’m looking forward to seeing your recipes 🙂
I love Southern food too and really all kinds. I appreciate the friendship too. You have a very nice blog with great pictures. That is something I need to learn to do better.
Thanks again,
Ronnie
Congrats on surviving your first week back, Angie!
I am always so sad to see summer end 🙁 I have to labor on labor day too, but hoping to take at least a day off to discover a place in NH where you can hike through a sculpture park…and the town has a fabulous tea house and a lobster place…..now you know why I want to go there….work can wait 🙂
Tea house and lobster?! Is there anything better than that?! Now that you’ve mentioned it, I think maybe I’ll take a day off, too, and go for blue crabs in Maryland. Used to be an annual thing but didn’t get to do this summer. Laundry can wait… 😀
Yes, laundry can certainly wait…as we know it is not going anywhere…it will still be waiting after the blue crab meal!
I have heard so much about the wonderful crab places in Maryland. That annual tradition sounds like a keeper!
My kids school too started last week and my little one going to pre k full day. He is my energy booster. As he is not around me now in school time, I feel low and upset.. still so happy and proud… Happy Fiesta Friday ?
Aaw…don’t you feel at a loss sometimes without the kids?! I remember the feeling, and I was so anxious for them to come home from school! It’ll get better though, so hang in there, mom!
Thank you for hosting! Have a great holiday.
No problem, have a nice long weekend!
Hi Angie, Thanks very much for giving me the chance of co-hosting Fiesta Friday for the second time.
Don’t mention it, I thank YOU for cohosting!
Great picks Angie – those beer and cheese biscuits sound divine!
Don’t they?! As soon as I saw them, I knew I had to give them a try ?
Thank you!
Hi there! I know I originally offered to co host Sept 15th, but could I push this back a week for logistical reasons? To the 22nd? My arm, btw, is doing better but while there are things I cannot do yet, using the computer isn’t one of those (I entrained myself to use the mouse left-handed years ago, for one).
That’s perfect actually; you’ll be cohosting with Shinta @ Caramel Tinted Life for the 22nd. For the 15th, we’ll just vote for features instead (no cohost). Thanks, Diann! And I had to chuckle about training yourself to use the mouse left handed ?
Hope you had a great Labor Day and your new school year is the best yet!
Thanks, Deb! Can’t believe it’s September already! Are we supposed to say goodbye to summer now?! ?
No… technically it doesn’t end until 9/22! 😉
Oh yay!! 😀
Hi, Angie! I missed Fiesta Friday this week. I am sure will be able to join FF#188. Am I right that I am co-hosting with Nimmi? I hope you are having fun!
Yes, and you’ll be cohosting with Nimmi. And it’s ok to miss the fiesta one time, but not two or more times! Just kidding! We all do what we can ?
I am teaching things to the new staff! It’s exhausting!!?? See you, Angie!?
