Father's Day is next week and I have to brace myself for the annual garbage-meal day 😂 That's what the kids and I, jokingly and lovingly, call my husband’s choice of Father’s Day dinner because almost always he would opt for an all-you-can-eat buffet meal. It used to be Old Country Buffet or Golden Corral but since neither restaurant in our area survived the Covid pandemic, we will have to travel at least 45 minutes to go to the nearest one. So he's been threatening he wants to try out a ... continue reading...

Just 12 more school days until Summer break… woohoo! The end is coming, fast and furious! It wasn't until last night when I was discussing our summer travel plan with my husband and kids, that I realized how soon summer would be here. So exciting! We have an ambitious travel plan this summer. We’ll be exploring Japan, Singapore, and Bali, all in a 2-week span. Ideally, I'd like to spend 2 weeks at each location. Oh, well… I can’t wait to try all the food! These are quite gastronomically ... continue reading...

Grilling season is upon us, and I was going to kick it off in the best way possible. With some grilled corn, of course. I went a little crazy and bought a couple of dozen ears of corn. Then the husband reminded me that we'd be going away for the weekend. Omigosh! I'm not so smart after all. The grilled corn plan will ... continue reading...

It's right next to the fence that borders the neighbor's bamboo grove. After battling the marauding bamboo for so many years, rather unsuccessfully, I sort of gave up on it. I haven't even so much as pulled a weed, let alone watered or fertilized the area. Well, what do you know? Roses like to be left alone, I guess. ... continue reading...
Fiesta Friday #536
Omigosh, you guys! I was strolling in my backyard last night (well, not when it was dark but at dusk) just before it rained, and I spied that my Pink Lemonade blueberry plants are finally producing fruits! Woohoo! There aren't a lot of berries since the plants are still small, but just imagine, in a few years, I may be harvesting bowlfuls of pink blueberries. Imagine this scene but with berries that are pink in color! Wouldn't that be amazing?! And then, of course, I will have to make ... continue reading...
