Halloween is just a week away, and I have yet to shop for treats and finalize the decorations. Alas, all of that will have to wait, as I'm heading out of town for what I hope will be a relaxing 3-day weekend. We'll see if I can actually unwind while I'm away from home. I'm hoping to try out new restaurants this time instead of sticking to our usual spots. However my husband is already insisting that his perennial favorite Katz's Deli is a must-stop. Fiesta Friday #559
Today is one of those Fridays when I don’t have anything particularly exciting to share with you. Nothing dramatic has happened, everything is okay and life feels pretty much hunky-dory. In other words, it’s a bit boring and mundane. However, I did get poison ivy. Is it called an infection or poisoning? It doesn't matter but I ended up with the rash without any idea of how it happened. I can’t even think of what I might have touched in the garden that could have come into contact with it. Fiesta Friday #558
I know most of you here are food enthusiasts, probably 99.9% of you. I can count the gardeners among us on the fingers of one hand, one of them being yours truly. One of them was looking lush and tropical. It was the curry leaf plant. I decided it ... continue reading...
Fiesta Friday #556
It’s candy apple-making time! Isn't fall the most glorious of all seasons? Of course, I would say the same thing when spring comes around but as of now, I’m enjoying the cooler weather and the leaves slowly changing colors. Aaand… best of all, apples are at their freshest right now. That means no mushy or soft apples! They're the worst! My favorite apple variety used to be Fuji, then Honeycrisp, then Cosmic Crisp. But currently, I’m Jazz-obsessed! Jazz apples are the crispiest and the most ... continue reading...
