Fiesta Friday #560

Halloween is just a week away, and I have yet to shop for treats and finalize the decorations. Alas, all of that will have to wait, as I’m heading out of town for what I hope will be a relaxing 3-day weekend. We’ll see if I can actually unwind while I’m away from home.

I’m hoping to try out new restaurants this time instead of sticking to our usual spots. However my husband is already insisting that his perennial favorite Katz’s Deli is a must-stop. In response, I countered that we might as well go to my favorite Russ & Daughters, too, since it’s in the vicinity.

So, are we even going to try anything new?! I really hope so. There are so many good restaurants in NYC but if we keep going to the same places, we’d never experience any of these restaurants!

Anyway, I had to clean out the fridge before we go so I made a quick Chicken & Shrimp Paella.

I would have added some veggies but I was planning to blend them into gazpacho until the husband nixed the idea. He’d rather forego vegetables if he can. Also, he hates gazpacho 😩

Okay, Let’s Party, Starting with These:

Oreo Witch Hat Cookies

“Cute Halloween treats to do with kids!” — Jhuls

Tiramisu with a Twist: Pornstar Martini

“Wth… pornstar what?! That’s such a provocative name for a drink! But I love Tiramisu, and passion fruits even more. So I’m looking forward to making this once I have enough ripe passion fruits.” — Angie

Moist Whole Wheat Cornbread – In Your Slow Cooker

“Whole wheat and moist?! And in your slow cooker?! Very intriguing to say the least. I ought to give this a try.” — Angie

Turketti {aka: Leftover Turkey Spaghetti Casserole}

“What a delicious way to use up leftover turkey! Love it!” — Jhuls
