It’s time to start thinking about red, white, and blue food, you guys! The 4th of July is less than a week away!
I bought several bags of red, white, and blue potatoes that were just begging to be turned into gnocchi. So I obliged.
The truth is, however, these new potatoes are not that conducive to being made into great gnocchi because of their high water content. And I did have to cheat and add beet puree to make the red gnocchi.
On the actual Independence Day next week, I will make better ones.
And of course, there should be a good red, white, and blue dessert, too. I’ll be making individual mini trifles since I already bought the bowls many years ago!
What about you, guys? What are you making for the 4th celebration?
Now It’s Features Time
“I’m so into cherries atm. Cherry muffins, cherry scones, cherry salad, cherry sauce… It’s been a week (or two) of cherries. But no cherry ice cream yet! That’s about to change!” — Angie
“Anything smashed potatoes with creamy dressing, count me in!” — Jhuls
“The best of cookies and cake baked into one delicious dessert!” — Jhuls
“The ultimate summer treat!” — Jhuls

THANK YOU for featuring my Patriotic Tollhouse Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake! I love your Linky Party b/c you cook & bake like I do … healthy and I lean towards gluten-free and dairy-free (I’m lactose intolerant) but not a “crazy person” about it. I “save my gluten” for dessert! (haha).
You’re welcome. I do try to cook and bake healthy most of the time, but like you said, I won’t go crazy about it.
