Fiesta Friday #253

I’m not sure how we got here. We’re now just a few short weeks away from Christmas! Pinch me!

Physically I can’t say I’m ready, but in spirit I am. I don’t even know what that meant; it just felt right saying it. Anybody here an expert on psychoanalysis? You have my permission to psychoanalyse me. In return, I’ll get therapy for free, deal?

So, anyway, Christmas. I have yet to make my list. Of things to do, cookies to bake, gifts to buy and wrap, and so on… By the time I finish the list, I may have a few hours left to spare before Christmas arrives. If I’m lucky. Everything moves so slowly in that noggin!

From last week’s fiesta:

Vanilla Red Pinwheels from Jess @ Cooking is My Sport

“I’m always drawn to whatever Jess is baking up and this week was no different! These pinwheels are so pretty and festive they’ll look great on any holiday cookie platter.” — Alex

“Jess’s pinwheels look so lovely and bright, a feast for the eyes and taste buds. What a great treat for friends and family during the holidays.” — Zeba

Koftas in Tomato Sauce from Zeba @ Food For The Soul

“Looking at this makes me sooo… hungry!! It looks and sounds delicious beyond belief. I need to make these koftas, pronto! I know they won’t disappoint.” — Angie

Chicken and Dumplings from Alex @ Turks Who Eat

“Oh, chicken and dumplings, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways… Sometimes in a quest of cooking something intriguing for the blog, you forget old staples like this. Thanks for the reminder, Alex.” — Angie

Fast Fresh Instant Pot Lo Mein from Mollie @ Frugal Hausfrau

“Well, I’ll be! Lo Mein in Instant Pot?! I gave it a try and it worked like a charm. What a gem of a recipe. It’ll be a staple in my house from now on!” — Angie

I know! It’s impossible we’ll be welcoming the new year in a few short weeks. How did that happen? Can we freeze time, please ?

Aww thanks for the feature! I hate how quickly these last few weeks of the year come and go. I always have such lofty plans for what I’m going to do/cook/buy after Thanksgiving, and then all of a sudden it’s Christmas already! Enjoy the season!

My pleasure! Same here with me, with lofty ideas and then in the end not having time to execute. Oh well, there’s always next year ?

I feel the same way. I just can’t believe Christmas is only a few weeks away! I don’t feel ready or maybe it’s denial that another year is coming to an end soon. I can’t get over 2018 is almost over. Well, going to stuff my face with cookies now, lol.

December is one of the amazing months of the year, isn’t it? I wish I could freeze time too, I was planning to cook so many things, but with all those Christmas tree lighting ceremonies and markets around.. not enough time as usual 😀

The older I get the faster the time goes! Wow! And the less energy I have, too. But I have adopted a do what I can and forget the rest attitude. Thanks for the feature and the shoutout!

That’s an attitude I need to adopt. After I wake up from my nap 😀 I can’t function without my naps. Sign of old age, sigh… LOVE the Lo Mein!! So much!!
