I work with a lovely bunch of teachers this year. That's not implying that I worked with unlovely teachers in the past, of course, but these teachers are particularly fabulous. Fall is arguably the busiest time of the year for a gardener. That’s me, I’m a gardener. Ergo, I’m busy. The lawn somehow grows even faster and more lush at this time of year, needing mowing more often, but that’s the husband’s job, or the son’s when he feels particularly helpful. Fall is here again... hallelujah! I love this sweater weather and am finding my baking mojo back. Look at what I made! How pretty is that, huh? Aaand… just like that, it’s back to being summer again, sigh… After wonderful fall weather last week, temperatures are back up in the 80s these past several days, thwarting my baking plans. I was going to make fig focaccia but changed my mind because I didn’t feel like cranking up the oven to 500° or even 400°. I've been making salads, instead. This is one of them.
