My summer break is ending soon, in exactly 5 days… WHY?! Why did school have to end so late last year and start so early this year?!
I did accomplish… exactly nothing. Okay, my husband and I did finally make it to Wales – it’s been on our bucket list for a while – and had a good time there.
We visited Cardiff and had lunch at The Welsh House. We chose the restaurant over the highly recommended The Potted Pig because there seems to be more Welsh food and drinks offered there.
The service was excellent – the staff was warm and welcoming. I think the food is decent, but nothing to write home about.
Having said that, I thoroughly enjoyed the Welsh Rarebit and Cockle Popcorn.

My husband, meanwhile, finished his Lamb Cawl without any complaint.

The best thing we ate while we were in Cardiff was hands down, Welsh Cakes. I’ve had Welsh Cakes before but couldn’t say that I was a fan. The freshly-made warm ones from Bakestones in Cardiff Market turned me into a fan.

Now I want to recreate them in my own kitchen. Perhaps I’ll do that this weekend… my last one before I have to report back to work, boo hoo 😩

Thanks so much for featuring my shrimp recipe this week. Have a great weekend.
You’re welcome. I dont know why but everytime I see shrimp on sale I have to buy, so they’re accumulating in the freezer. I need to start cooking them!
