It’s been a wild weather week. We began with sunny days and temperatures reaching 80 degrees, but by Thursday, it returned to freezing — we even had a light dusting of snow!
I started cleaning the garden beds around the deck and patio when the weather was warm enough. I was hoping to finish by the week’s end, but unfortunately, the weather hasn’t been cooperating yesterday or today, so they’ll have to wait until it warms up again. Oh well…
On a positive note, during yesterday’s snow, I managed to make dumplings using ingredients bought for the Lunar New Year last month.

It was satisfying to clear out some space in the freezer.
ALSO, I want to thank everyone for the kind wishes for Skye. She’s doing as well as can be expected. During her follow-up, the ophthalmologist mentioned her right eye was inflamed — a common after-surgery issue — but reassured us that Skye does have vision! She’s still finding it hard to navigate at home, but once her post-op cone is removed, medications are finished, and the inflammation subsides, she should improve a lot. Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers!
Now, Let’s Party!

Thank you for featuring my Frozen Grasshopper cocktail! I’m not a big drinker and this is my favorite because it tastes like a milkshake! The folds on your dumplings were so perfect! That must have taken hours. Thanks for bringing us such unusual dishes to shake up our normal menus.
You’re welcome. I don’t think I’ve had a grasshopper cocktail but it does sound like something I’d enjoy. Dumplings are definitely a labor of love and the folding/pleating takes practice to master so thanks so much for the compliment!
Hi, Angie; I was away for three weeks, so I just read that Skye had surgery and is recovering, so I am very glad that is the case, sending you my best wishes for a speedy complete recovery. Thank you for hosting another great Fiesta, I am sharing an old recipe, but for the first time here, #36 Sopa Tarasca. Have a nice weekend!
Thanks so much, Irene! XO
Oh the dumplings look delicious. Their folding process is therapeutic to me. Thank you for the wonderful party! Cheers.
I feel the same! And you’re welcome XO
