Hola, chicas y chicos! Feliz Cinco de Mayo!
Are you ready to fiesta? I am!
But something is missing. Where are the margaritas?
Can someone lend me their margarita machine? My husband forbade me to buy one. He said there’s no room in the kitchen.
That’s true. And it’s also true that he hates margaritas.
But he’ll take a Corona. And guess what? I hate beer.
It’s amazing we’ve been together for this long despite our differences. Maybe it’s true what they say… Opposites attract??
Anyway, I don’t think we’ll be squabbling over our drinks. Not today. Not on Cinco de Mayo.
Today we celebrate, right?! Are you with me?!

Elaine @ foodbod says
Is that photo from your table??? What a feast ????
Angie says
Of course! But really, was easy to put together. I like serving food this way. Everybody can just make their own plate with whatever ingredients they like. I should do more meals like this.
Elaine @ foodbod says
It all looks great ?
It’s exactly how I serve meals, lots of bowls on the table at once, for everyone to help themselves ?
Suchitra says
Happy Cinco de Mayo Angie!! It is always fun when a celebration is on the weekend!
Angie says
Yes, it is! Happy Cinco de Mayo to you, too, Su!
Suchitra says
Happy FF everyone! I dont have any drinks, but I brought plenty food with me to party with you all!
Angie says
It’s all good, Su! Drinks are not as important as food ? Okay, except margaritas, on Cinco de Mayo ?
Monika says
Hi Angie! Thank you for featuring my recipe! And can I come to your house and eat the lovely food at the top of the page that you so expertly took a photograph of? Looks amazing! Looking forward to co-hosting with Sue this week, her blog looks very interesting:)
Angie says
You’re welcome! Of course you can come, but I’m warning you…our food is not always healthy and most likely not as delicious as yours, lol. But I usually have a great selection of music playing ? ? Thanks for cohosting, Monika!

Hola amiga. The secrets to a great 4 ingredient margarita are good tequila, Casadores comes to mind, good Controy (Mexican orange liquor) and the star is fresh key lime. Top if off with a splash of sparkling water. Come down the Baja and I’ll have a pitcher ready for you and the Fiesta Friday gang. It helps to drink these pool or beach side. Maybe that’s the super secret.
Muchas gracias para la fiesta viernes, La Gringa
Angie says
Hola, mi amiga! Estoy listo para una margarita! Ok, that’s the extent of my Spanish, even though I took classes in college. And got As! But you know, you don’t use it, you lose it ?
Ok, everyone, let’s all go to Baja and crash Tracey’s!!
Jhuls says
I agree – opposite attracts… And I like that when food-related coz I don’t have to share? Everything on that table looks fab, Angie! Thanks for the party and have a lovely weekend! Happy FF!?
Angie says
You’re so smart, Jhuls!! I didn’t think about that! You don’t want to share? Fine, more for me, lol!
Jhuls says
When I meet a friend of a friend and find out that she likes food, too, I always joke around that we will not get along as we will end up fighting for the last bite and she agrees, too. ?
Angie says
Oh and Happy FF, Jhuls!
Sue says
Beer is nasty! I can’t figure out how people enjoy the flavor except that the food it “goes” with such as pizza, burgers, and deep fried foods, are delicious. Love the table shot Angie, and the tacos (they are tacos, yes, or sopes?) look delicious.
Angie says
Thanks for cohosting, girlfriend! And yes, they’re tacos. I was actually thinking of making sopes, but it’d be too involved ? Another time, maybe.
Well, people who love beer try to tell me that if I had tried good quality instead of crappy beer, I would have loved it. And I said, why?! There are so many other delicious drinks to try ?
Zeba@Food For The Soul says
So appreciate the feature…thank you! I love that spread on the table, inspires me to feed everyone this way during the weekend..margaritas included. If only this rain would go away !
Angie says
You’re welcome, Zeba! Such a wonderful recipe. Time to break into that Iranian saffron I’ve been saving. And the rain! Wait, I think it may have just stopped actually, hurray! ??
Zeba@Food For The Soul says
Yay! It stopped raining ☔️ and the sun is glorious now. Have a ☀️ weekend Angie!
Liz @ spades, spatulas, and spoons says
What a wonderful spread Angie, make mine a margarita.
Angie says
Thanks, Liz! Unfortunately no margaritas today. It was too cold and rainy! Would you take a rain check? ?
Liz @ spades, spatulas, and spoons says
Absolutely! Summer is almost here with BBQ weather.
Angie says

Margherita Romagnoli says
I wish I could have both a beer and a margarita… no alcohol is on top of my list of the bad things of being pregnant, am I wrong? Anyway, you table looks amazing Angie, perfect for parties!
Angie says
Oh, alcohol is definitely a big no-no when you’re pregnant. It won’t be long, though, until you can enjoy everything again without worrying about the baby. Hang in there, stay strong Margy ? Thanks for the compliment. We had a nice meal ?
Laura @ Feast Wisely says
Happy cinco de mayo Angie – I’m belatedly celebrating today with a home made Mexican feast!
Angie says
Oh wow, a Mexican feast?! That sounds awesome, Laura. Margaritas involved? ?
Laura @ Feast Wisely says
No Margaritas as it was a ‘school night’ but plenty of food Angie!
Antonia says
I hope you had a nice Cinco de Mayo and weekend Angie! Delicious selections this week!
Angie says
Thanks, Antonia! It ended up being a busy weekend but still an enjoyable one. I hope yours was, too!
