I am so happy to hear Skye is well again! Poor thing! I love corn on the cob and will make sure I keep it well away from the dog!
Great features and Happy FF! I hope you have a great weekend 🙂 x

Thanks, Petra. I was surprised how much Skye enjoyed that corn. She’s usually only interested in meat. I thought animals had the instinct to not eat anything that would make them sick. I thought wrong 😂😂

        hi Angie
My dog has the most sensitive system in the world and that doesn’t stop him at all!
All you can do is look after them! 🙂 x

  2. Poor puppy. You feel so helpless when your pet is sick. Our pup had a horrible ear infection this week and I felt so sorry for him. I’m glad Skye is feeling better.
    As always, thanks for hosting,

I know, right?! They can’t exactly tell you how they feel. I’m thankful Skye is better. No more corn for her! 😄😄 Have fun at the fiesta, Tracey!

That must have been so scary for you. So happy to hear that Skye is doing well now.

  4. So glad to hear Skye is ok Angie and thanks for the tip on corn and dogs being a watch out – very useful for me as we often cook it with two food loving fur babies around!

Thanks, Laura! And yes, definitely keep an eye on them when cooking corn; they actually seem to like the taste! I guess we all need to remind ourselves that they’re not humans and can’t handle certain foods the way we do. But sometimes it’s hard not to give in, right, when they look at you with their cute faces begging for food 😄

  5. My heart went to my throat when I heard about Skye. Thanks goodness she’s ok! A corn cob nearly did Gibson in two years ago, and the surgery was so difficult for him, especially, I think coz he was an older dog. I’m glad she was able to work it through.

Since then, anything with bones (like my chicken wings) or corncobs goes straight out into the garage into the bin there. There’s so many dangers for dogs and things that you don’t think about until they happen.

It’s so hard to be a dog mom sometimes – to have all that responsibility for a creature that adores you and knowing they can’t speak and tell you what’s wrong…and then constantly wondering if you’re doing the right thing. It sounds like you did exactly the right thing, here. Give Skye kisses for us from me and Chance. Homer (the cat) declines…:)

    • Angie says:

It IS hard to be a dog mom. They can’t exactly tell you what they need, definitely can’t entertain themselves. It’s not like they can watch TV or skype their friends or go to the mall 😂
My Skye wants attention from me and her dad 24/7, not so much from the kids, go figure. I’m constantly tripping over her; she’s always on my heels! She threw up again yesterday, but very tiny amount, probably my fault, I shared my waffles with her. No more human food! But she has the most irresistible face! Tell Homer Skye sends him wet kisses, lol.

      • 🙂 I buy a few minutes time here and there with the kong treat ball, another larger ball that I fill with dog food that sprinkles out treats when it’s rolled and a number of different things I can put peanut butter in. If Chance doesn’t outright destroy them, they keep him busy!!
